After reopening under new management, Nile Restaurant has made a few changes. One of them is their new lunch buffet for $9. As I had limited time to eat, I decided to stick to the buffet. Unfortunately, the food was inconsistently good. Both the brown and yellow lentils had very little flavor, the lentils a bit watery. The beets were fresh and fragrant, cooked perfectly. The colored greens were pretty good, though they were a little cold. The cabbage was flavored nicely, the cabbage cooked just enough to hold its bite. The server was very sweet and made me feel welcome. She was also quick to give me my check during my rush. From what I can tell, the meat dishes were popular with locals dining there, so I suppose I would've had better luck if I had tried the meat!

Great experience. Meal was first rate, maybe best shiro ever. And the coffee was so good. Staff were very congenial and warm. Will be back soon!

Very good service and love the pictures of Ethiopia and proud Ethiopians (e.g. the King of Ethiopia and H. Gebrselassie) on the walls. Great experience for a Sunday evening tète-à-tète. We had the place to ourselves at around 5 pm and really enjoyed ourselves.

Compared to other Ethiopian restaurants, the quantity was slightly less here. Normally, a vegetarian sampler/platter is enough for me and my husband, but here we had to order two. When we ordered the second time, we were served a larger sample size. The food tastes great. Slightly relaxed and laid back ambience.

Were here Saturday January 13, 2018 with the family around 7pm on a semi-cold night. Had reserved and they had saved us the best table in the restaurant. There were mostly Ethiopian men at the bar and at a couple of tables. Typical Ethiopian men they were well-mannered minding their own business. The Ethiopian manager was friendly and helpful, explained the menu and took our order. Two or three other Ethiopian women serving the food were also very friendly. The food was good and authentic and the price was right. Have not been here for the buffet they serve at lunch but can only imagine it is good and at a good price. As for the parking on a Saturday night it is easy on the north side of Eastern Avenue close to the intersection with Georgia Avenue. If you are adventurous, like authentic Ethiopian food, and don't mind being the only non-Ethiopian in the restaurant I highly recommend this restaurant on a Saturday night.

Delicious food. Friendly people, both staff and locals.. Good prices. I was very welcomed, though a different ethnicity. Nice collection of Ethiopian artifacts. I can see why Ethiopian food is the rage! Seemed very authentic food:. I had a lamb dish with a side. Live far away but want to return! Wow! (Visited two Saturdays ago.)

I don't know if this still has the restaurant attached, but I have been to the restaurant twice (December 2012 and spring of 2013) and both times the food has been superb. My classmate who is Ethiopian recommended it as her favorite restaurant so the first time we went it was for my birthday. It was my husband's first time trying Ethiopian cuisine and we both loved it. The honey wine was also delicious. The second time I went was with several classmates and it was again the best food. Some of them had not had Ethiopian food before and everyone liked it. I would highly recommend this place above some of the more popular well-frequented locations. This is more of an authentic experience. And FYI, injera as a leftover is quite good with fried eggs, onions, and peppers the next morning!

Reminded me of the food I grew up with. Very delicious and filling. The staff was great and to top it off I was able to buy some ingredients to make my own from their market next door.

Great food and a low key atmosphere. The food is authentic (another place nearby is heavily Westernized). Ethiopian taxi drivers frequent the restaurant, furthering the case for its authenticity.

Small warm ,dark and friendly with actually delicious food. The restaurant is dark and mysterious with just a few tables- several Tables by the bar filled with local Ethiopians chatting amongst themselves and having dinner and drinks. The food was a little spicy, we asked for it mild and it was. The tej was rich and fulfilling. I have of late had tej in some restaurants that's was thin and empty of the rewarding flavor of good Tej. The tej in this restaurant was the best I've had in recent years and that includes Etete restaurant( where my novice friends ask me why people buy it at all). The food and the drinks were well-balanced. The menu is full of wonderful versions of Ethiopian food. We know that Ethiopian food can be very spicy we asked for it mild and it was wonderfully so. Vegetarians will be struck at how many different types of food and flavors they have to look forward to at this restaurant. The injera Ethiopian bread that is the base for the way the food is served was perfect. And they kept bringing more injera as we needed it. Both waitresses spoke mostly Ethiopian one waitress spoke English fluently. The manager came over regularly to make sure things were going smoothie for us. And the waitress and manager explained some of the dishes and helped us decide on what food we wanted 2 order. Different restaurants can make some of these Ethiopian dishes differently which is one of the reasons one goes to different restaurants. This restaurant had wonderful flavors that definitely were because of the terrific chefs imagination.
