I had the egg rolls, Tom yum chicken soup, a ham banh mi and hot some jasmine tea. The egg rolls were perfectly cooked! The outside was crunchy and delicious, not too much coating and the sauce on the side was the perfect compliment. The Tom kha chicken soup had a nice sour taste, not too sour but just right. It was, however incredibly salty and the chicken had a strange chewy flavor. The saltiness made it inedible for me, I had a few bites and left the rest. The bahn mi was AMAZING! The baguette was just the right amount of crunch, not too hard, not too soft. The pickled veggies and sauce made it full of flavor. My only qualm would be that the sauce was heavy on half of the sandwich, and very light on the other side, so needed a little more for half of the sandwich. The jasmine tea was of course delicious and hot. The price was was great especially for the Georgetown area. Bahn mi was $7, soup was $7 and egg rolls were $5 I believe. Overall, I would return and looking forward to trying the pho and maybe the chicken bahn mi next time.
Best bahn-mi in the District and the only place I know of with “appetizer size” pho. Perfect for a quick soup + sandwich lunch that isn’t boring. Don’t forget a Vietnamese Iced Coffee or Thai Tea - they’re definitely sweet, but also super flavorful.
I’ve since moved back to NY but always stop here when I’m in town. I have dreams about this sandwich, people. Check it out!
I used to come here all of the time before the pandemic. The broth was amazing and I always enjoyed a huge bowl of pho. I came in the other day under their new name, and the staff almost treated me like I was an inconvenience since I wanted to dine-in. They really seem to be focused on take-out only. I ordered my usual pho and waited in silence... until I finally received it. It was good, but the portion size had dropped in half. Same size huge bowl, half portion. I was lucky I got a glass of water. The broth was still great but why am I getting so much less for the same price? You guys can turn this around, just make it an enjoyable restaurant again like it used to be.
I had the Pho BÒ Đac Biet Sate and the chicken and vegetable dumpling and they were delicious! The restaurant is really small (only about 6 tables). It's clean and well-maintained and so is the bathroom. Only downside was that service was a bit slow because they had just one elderly man taking orders, serving and running the register. That said, he was quite efficient and polite. I would definitely eat here again.
OH my goodness this place is bomb!! i just finished my sandwich and had to write a review because pho viet needs more hype. i usually order from the sprig and sprout because it's closer to my home but picked this up for a change, and i think it's worth the additional drive (not to knock sprig and sprout; they're great too). the lemongrass beef bahn mi was incredible - fresh baguette, crispy veggies, and complex flavors between the beef and sauce. the veggie egg rolls were amazing, too. i'd ordered the chicken curry so i could have some leftovers to eat later but i think i'm about to go have some of that too. highly recommend :)
Im not a big pizza lover but boy do am I a lover of &pizza! Especially this location. Amazingly friendly and helpful staff (thx James + Carlos!) and the pizza is so good!!! Loads of options, very generous size and amount of toppings, and fresh, while good ingredients. Thanks!!
We were vacationing from Florida. Found this place in Georgetown. Fabulous! Summer rolls were tasty and the Pho.....wow! One of the best I've had. Would definitely come back next time we are here.
