I enjoyed the experience. This was the second time I rented a car at this location and this experience was the best. This review is only for this location because I have had totally different experiences with other Hertz locations. Smooth and quick service on the pickup and return. I didn't wait on any lines, received an email with my vehicle location and make, keys were in the car and the gate attendant checked me out. Total time in the garage was about ten minutes.
I rented a full size car for 3 days.
Car was comfortable but the cabin filter needed to be replaced.
When you turned on the A/C, it smelled for the 1st several minutes. I bought an air freshener for the vehicle when I made my 1st stop.
The people at the gold counter were not the friendliest as I thought they would have been because there was a celebrity in front of me .
All in all, the rental was fine. I really enjoy renting from Hertz. I think there are areas of improvement for this company and especially the DCA gold booth.
I have been renting a car at least 4 days a month from Hertz for the last 5 years. I have NEVER once been disappointed. Service is fast, reliable and well priced. If you are going to rent often, go with Hertz. If you can join the Gold Club most of the time you do not even have to go to the counter. Make your reservation online and you will be directed to where your car is parked with keys in it. Don't like the Car - upgrade for free when you are a Gold Club member. Awesome company, better service, especially at Reagan airport and Albany International airport.
While it took a minute for my car to be brought up, when it was it was:
1) Exactly the car I had requested (brand and type) This matters for time as it means I was comfortable with all of the internal controls and did not have to spend time fumbling and fidgeting with the controls. I appreciated this.
2) The car was spotless and smelled nice
3) The tank was full
4) Hand off was seamless and with a pleasant smile.
Thank You Hertz for being the rental car company that I and my family have been using worldwide for over 30 years.
Car was ready and waiting when I arrived. Kenny was the clerk who checked me in when I returned the car. He was great very friendly and helpful. His co-worker Robert even drove us around to the terminal in the car we returned. No need to remove our bags or ride the shuttle. Great service as always, will rent from Hertz again for sure.
I consider my experience with my latest Hertz rental as excellent. The SUV was clean and performed great. The vehicle was lined up waiting to picked up. No hassles, delays or complications. I can only describe it as great service from pickup to turn in. No problem.
I booked a car online through the Hertz website and chose to "book now" for a lower rate. I started doing this because what I've noticed is that often times booking this way is the same price (if not cheaper) than many car rental, hotel, and flight booking sites. The process at this location was simple enough and they didn't push hard on trying to up-sell me. They simply asked once and that was it. Returning was easy as you just park the car and walk off since they do everything by email & your Hertz account online.
This was the first time I ever rented a car. I rented for a drive down to South Carolina (from DC) to see my nephew graduate. The car was available & I was on my way quick, however, the first time I stopped for food & a break, the battery was dead when I returned to the car. Some short in the electrical system I assume. I called the rental desk at DC and they arranged roadside assistance within the hour. I didn't have anymore problems that weekend until my trip home, when the battery died again the first time I stopped for gas. Roadside assistance was there within the hour again, and I made it back without further incident. It was only a minor annoyance, and they handled it for me fine.
Our experience using Hertz to use a rental car in the Wash, DC area and further in Atlanta, GA was smooth and problem-free, It took us awhile to find the Hertz counter from the baggage claim area at DCA and it was quite a hike. Once we got the vehicle, it was somewhat confusing on how to exit the rental area and the airport proper. We got a small SUV which was sufficient as we were transporting some family members around and the gas mileage was excellent. We returned the car in Atlanta and just followed the signage to get it checked in. All in all, we would recommend Hertz for your car rental. Thanks, Hertz!
Our interaction with Budget was disappointing. We walked immediately over to Hertz, and was greeted by Ms. Barbra, who was as helpful as anyone in her position could be. Without having reservations she was able to search the system for an even better deal than we initially had with Budget rental. Five stars for outstanding customer service! Thanks for such a quick and easy resolution.
