A place doesn't need to be anything more than it claims to be. Sometimes a place can just do exactly what it's supposed to and do it consistently and get high marks. In the no frills neighborhood institution diner category, Murry and Paul's does exactly what you need it to do, dependably, every time. It's there, it's open, it's friendly, it's yummy. Day after day. Not looking for attention. Just there for you.
This was my first time here. Superb service, decent wait time for to-go orders. The only thing that is missing on the menu is shrimp and grits option.🤤 This location is a cash only establishment.
Had to drag my bro out of bed for this. Cash only breakfast experience straight out of the 70s. Cigarettes were the only thing missing. Food was great and reasonably priced; a rarity these days in the DMV. I had meat, eggs and coffee. Bro had pancakes as big as a plate. He was slightly bummed they weren’t vegan. Later some chicks were talking at this place about plans for some time with this dude.
No gluten free options, so stick with the usual like eggs and bacon, etc. No vegan options unless you want just toast. Service was amazing. Food was adequate: large portions and very filling, greasy - and that's part of the charm. Great place for relaxed breakfast. No parking that I could find, and you may have to walk a block to get there. They offer scrapple, and other items I can't usually find on a menu. Scrapple is not gluten free.
Just discovered this cute and quaint lil greasy spoon! Definitely returning to sit down and have a better look at the menu! After my first trip, I'll say the egg emporium might have a good run with this delicious spot
This was my first breakfast experience in the US, and I was very impressed the food was nice and the prices are affordable, staff were very friendly, cant wait to come back again to try their pancakes
For $9 breakfast this place cannot be beat! They’re great at eggs, bacon, grits, and pancakes. Owners are a very sweet family. If you are looking for exotic menu items or hipster ambiance this is not the place. If you are hungry for classic staples and and can take a lack of decor in exchange for a solid meal, this is the spot for you.
Low prices, large portions, great quality for a hole-in-the-wall diner. If you come around 7 am there’s not much of a wait. And the picture of St John Paul II helps.
Don’t come here - you’ll hate it 😉.
Yes I *do* wish they used real butter for the toast.
Still haven’t found a place with chocolate chip pancakes as good as these! You know they are good when they only accept cash and you go to the bank just to buy breakfast from here!
