I hosted a semi-private event for about 20 people this past Friday night. They said that if I brought a group of people who would buy drinks, they would give us 2 hours of an area on the rooftop. It was a great experience overall. The staff, drinks, and atmosphere was fantastic! I will gladly recommend this place to anyone looking to host any type of event like I did.
After researching around DC for a place to host my birthday event, I came across Hawthorne and never looked back! Their team reached back out to my quickly and provided me with all the details I needed to consider but it was a no brainer. I was able to reserve their 3rd floor space for my 40+ guests with no fee or minimum! Another huge plus was that on Saturdays afternoons, they offer happy hour deals for food and drink as well as a DJ on the floor! Come day of, the manager and staff there were so helpful and friendly. All of my friends raved about how much fun they had and it was truly a memorable experience! Highly recommend for anyone to celebrate their events at Hawthorne if you have a large party!

5 star service!!!! Our bartender, Anna, was so attentive and made such delicious drinks for me and all my friends! The manager also checked in with us throughout the night, thanks so much for a great night Hawthorne! So glad I found my new favorite spot in DC!!
We visited for Sunday brunch. We arrived early so there was no wait but shortly thereafter it picked up. Customer service from both the hostess and waitress was friendly and welcoming. Food was good. No complaints. We ordered the French toast, chicken & waffles and the biscuits and chicken gravy with a side of grits. Delicious! Drinks were mimosas and Moscow mule, made just right, not too heavy and definitely not light. Enjoyed the visit. Next time we'll do the rooftop.
I love Hawthorne especially the roof! This is my favorite place in DC and I had my birthday party here. The drinks, food, and music were amazing. All of my friends really enjoyed it too so I totally recommend checking out Hawthorne whether you host a party or just wanna stop by with friends!

I booked the Sky Lounge which is so pretty. The booking process was so easy. I filled out the interest form online and they got back to me right away. They have a variety of alcohol specials for your event - wine/beer only, rail liquor/wine/beer etc. It definitely helps with keeping things under budget.
There are limited food options and it's served buffet style. The Cheeseburger Sliders and flatbread were great. Don't recommend the quesadilla at all.
Day of, everything was ready on time and the bartender for the event was wonderful! He really took great care of everyone and was very friendly! We all had a great time and I definitely recommend boking the sky lounge for your next event (warning: the lounge is not handicap accessible and it's up 4 flights of stairs.)
Hosted an event for ~30 people on part of the rooftop. Wonderful service and great communication from staff. Huge shoutout to Megan and Demetrius for facilitating a seamless experience. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to host a private event.
Im so glad I found out about Hawthorne. I booked a private event and participated in their bottomless brunch, and my party and I had an amazing time. From the delicious food, timely staff service, and accommodations from their booking manager before our visit I highly recommend having your event here! Not to mention the ambiance of their rooftop space I loved it! Can't wait to spend another Sunday here.

Solid Chesapeake Benedict. The bartender on the top floor (whose name I didn't catch and I feel awful) was awesome and super friendly. She made some fantastic cocktails but I hope the bar gets her some more diverse ingredients. Overall great brunch!
