I got the cheese jalapeño bagel filled with eggs and cheese. It was pretty delicious and it only cost around $5.
Next time I would ask for extra cheese just because the bagel was a little dry. But all in all I would definitely come back here for a quick breakfast bagel.
This is my go to if I need lunch. Their Turkey avocado chipotle mayo sandwich is awesome! You can’t go wrong. It can be a bit pricey but it’s worth it! There is one woman there who is so nice. Just love her and she always has such a warm greeting for everyone. Some of the other employees act aloof, but this one woman makes up for all of them. And she’s the boss! She’ll get them to wait on you quickly.
One of only four Au Bon Pains left in DC. If you enjoy their pastries, it might be a good idea to stock up before all the cafes are closed. The croissants freeze well. Sad to see another favorite on its way out.
Great breakfast for best price in Washington. If we travel again to DC we will definitely stop by
This is one place I yearn to go back again for the fantastic taste, great variety and the simple yet posh interiors. The portions are small but the superb taste is overwhelming. They have a number locked wash room and when I asked for one simply got the number and had to figure out the rest, so interesting experience. I want to go back here since I am missing the taste.

Good food, at relatively low prices for the area. Chicken noodle soup and warm sandwiches are good, so are the pastries. Surprisingly, the latte was as good as those in some the bigger specialized coffee chains, but about half the price! Good seating and clean, with friendly staff.
Good location, great food, and perfect customer service. My family and I walked around looking for a place to eat when we stumbled upon this place. We were greeted with a warm welcome when we walked though the door. The employees were friendly and helped with recommendations. Food and coffee were fresh and delicious. Would recommend to anyone!
I ate here 3 or 4 times during the week I was visiting the city.
The Thai Peanut Chicken Wrap as well as all of their soups are incredible.

The sandwiches are scrumptious! I used to work a block away and would come here often. After a long day of interviews, I was starving! I'm glad I made the 3 block trek in the frigid winter wearing only a suite jacket to Au Bon.
I customized my sandwich loaded with veggies, mozzarella cheese, and pesto aioli on a semolina bread. The sandwich was packed with fresh veggies - carrots, roasted red pepper, cucumber, pickled onions. The sandwich was divine.
Best part of the sandwich? I was charged less than $5 for a cheese sandwich with unlimited veggies and toppings. The guy hooked me up!
If I'm in the area and craving a sub, Au Bon Pain is my go to spot!
Great Deli & bakery! Next door to 1001 Pennsylvania Ave. Parking garage. Clean restrooms here. Great soup variety, sandwiches, baked goods. Reasonable prices.
