We are having our wedding celebration at CW DC in September. We booked this venue in January when it was a gutted out warehouse. Colleen brought the space to life with her energy and photos and have yet to regret that decision. Yesterday we did our tasting and we cannot describe how special it was. Colleen, and the newest event planner, Alissandra, walked us thru everything. James was our dedicated and extremely attentive waiter who we hope to have on our special day. Brendan, the executive chef and the Pastry Chef, Nicole, were amazing. Great ideas and flexible....although we didn’t need to change a thing. It was difficult to commit and the food is amazing. Big commitment to quality. The beverage manager, Victoria, was excellent. We gave her a concept of what we wanted for our specialty cocktail and she nailed it on the first try. We had planned on upgrading the beer and wine package to avoid that cheesy reception wine, but that was not necessary. We were pleased and are excited for the big day. Highly recommend.

The prices were competitive for DC, but higher than a wine based menu in Baltimore. The music venue was spacious and sound was great. The staff however... the staff here is INCREDIBLE! Each member of the staff went out of their way to accommodate patrons and make the best of each situation. Even the security was friendly! Looking forward to watching this venue blossom and grow to take the DC music scene to the next level! Congrats City Winery! You have a fan here in WV!

This is such an amazing place. The staff is so customer friendly. There was a problem that was already resolved before I even knew it existed. The staff is personable, professional, and timely. The wine selection is extensive. But the atmosphere, I think takes the cake. Such a beautiful facility. It is intimate and laid out well. The performance tonight was phenomenal. I wish we had a City Winery in Kansas.

We went last night to see Lyfe Jennings and it was great, food too but short staffed but our waiter DJ was very patient even though the chef was super backed up he kept coming to see if we needed anything. But the venue was nice. There is one thing I didn't like though 😕 we got to our table at 6:45pm and we couldn't order food at all, so we had to go downstairs to eat after Lyfe finished singing.

We reserved a two person hightop near the bar (there were only two of us and we didn't want to share a table since the pandemic is still a thing). I wasn't sure what to expect, but there wasn't a ton of bar traffic to bother us and we had a great view and breathing room. We weren't too far back at all. I was really happy with our spot. The drinks we got were STRONG but good. As soon as we went to order food, the kitchen "turned the food off" to catch up with orders. We had planned to eat before the show and sip our drinks while watching but ended up having to wait until well into the show to order, which was a little annoying. I totally understand why they did it, but I think I'd rather have ordered and then waited ages (though that's just me). Also, we'd looked at the menu online before going only to find out the menu was different when we actually got there. We were super looking forward to a s'mores dessert but instead they had a strawberry one, so just keep an eye out for that! That being said, our server was great and let us know the second food came back up (this would have been a 4 star review if service hadn't been absolutely perfect, and honestly everyone working looked like they were having fun, which was awesome and a great atmosphere). And once we did get the food, it was pretty good. We tried a seasonal salad, the parmesan fries, and the chocolate dessert mousse. Everything was fresh and delicious and the concert ended up being just a super chill and enjoyable experience. I'd totally go back for another concert and do the hightop table again, we had a great night and a lot of fun (once I wasn't hangry anymore).

Nice David Hollister concert. Waistrees came to our table after we ordered to explain how to order. Not a great place for a concert especially since we were packed together with no elbow room. My friend thought we paid for a specific table but we were later moved somewhere else. I think if a person is expecting to sit somewhere specific it should be honored and not moved at company's discretion. Wings were ok. Mushrooms were spectacular. Had a daiquiri listed on online ordering but doesn't make anymore. The spritz with the titos vodka was really good. The ketel drink was good too.

Loved seeing and listening to the Chuck Brown Band at City Winery, Washington, DC! The ambiance was amazing. They did get our orders mixed up and never brought out half of the food but the music and vibe was so good that I won't take off but one star. We'll give them another shot to get it right as we want to go back for other artists. But they do really need to get the food orders straight. The show ended and some people in our party was never served.

Intimate, Unique Concert Venue We went last night to go see Jump Little Children, and it was our first time at City Winery. The winery looks stunning, the food was *DELICIOUS*, the wine was excellent, and it was an absolutely amazing concert experience. Yes it can be close quarters with those around you, but there's really not a bad seat in the house. It's a bit pricey, but it was worth it to get an intimate concert experience with a fabulous meal.

My advice: Eat BEFORE you arrive for a concert. The food is just OK, and my food and drink took forever to arrive. Maybe they’re understaffed or whatever. Just eat beforehand at a nice restaurant right next to the winery. Check google maps for restaurants right in that area. The interior is wonderful and I would give the decor 5 stars. Everyone was very nice, too.

Very cool place. We went for a candlelight Christmas Jazz concert and it was so good. The jazz band was amazing. The singer had such a smooth voice and sang the Christmas songs immaculately. Tip: If we were to go back, I would sit at the high top tables closer to the bar. It would be more intimate and nobody right next to you. Thesr seats would be good since there really isn't a bad spot to sit in the place. Finally, my only complaint would be how close the tables and chairs are and how uncomfortable the seats are. Besides that it was a great evening.

Attended two separate events, most recently for the Bilal concert. I really enjoy this winery/venue, but being brutally honest, I do not enjoy the food here. I’ve ordered the duck tacos and kale salad and both times, the meals left a lot to be desired. However, the atmosphere is inviting and the bartender by the name, Jewels is great. I would definitely recommend City Winery for a night out in the city.

First time here and really liked it. Think The Birchmere if it was really nice. They did screw up my friend's food order (her food never came but her wine did) but when we said something they apologized and refunded her whole order, including the wine. We paid for "Zone A" and I would definitely do that again, it was really nice to be so close.
