Relaxed environment, vegan options. The serving we received didn't seem as generous as in the photos we saw that other people had posted, but we didn't go hungry. The food tasted fine, but the flavors weren't as rich as we've enjoyed elsewhere.
Overall, I wouldn't be opposed to eating here again, but would also shop around for comparison.
(Note this photo was taken after a we tasted a couple bites.)
The meal was excellent. We shared a veg combo and a meat combo among five of us, and every single thing was sooo good. The service was excellent as well. A wonderful little gem!
Great food and service. Fair prices. My husband and I got the meat sampler and a wot dish. More than enough food for two people.
Food was delicious, lots of flavors and we'll spiced. Service was slow but friendly. Would definitely visit again.
Delicious and authentic! The portion sizes were good for the price and the customer service was great!
Awesome Ethiopian food, and great service. If you have no idea what to get, just follow the server's suggestion!
Yes! This restaurant changed locations from Adams Morgan to H Street Corridor. Same owners, same friendly staff. We ordered the usual vegetarian/vegan combo. Everything is delicious and all the different flavors are complementary. The beets, cabbage, and savory lentils are my favorite on the plate. It came with a lentil garlic dip that is extremely tasty and creamy - there is no dairy! We were impressed with the addition. Affordable and yummy meals. Many more visits to come!
Fantastic vegetarian sampler platter, good lamb alitcha, great service, excellent price. Highly recommended. I was back again in February 2019 Still wonderful. Best Ethiopian food in the DC area, no doubt about it. This time we also ordered Kitfo well done (cooked). It was well=seasoned, juicy, delicious, generous portion.
The server was very kind and helpful for us as it was our first Ethiopian dining experience. He recommended the right dish for us and he even helped me fix up a non alcoholic drink by special request. Near the end we talked about our respective cultures and international affairs that made the night very special. So not only was the food very good but the experience was very pleasant and warm. He even offered coffee to us but regrettably we are sensitive to caffeine when close to our bed time. If I was traveling alone I definitely would have taken him up with his offer. Ethiopian food in a neighborhood restaurant. Give it a try.
Simply the best, better than most Ethiopian locations in DC. Definitely a favorite. Made to order, cooked from scratch. Love on the plate, memorable dishes that take you back to memories of the homeland Ethiopia. Wonderful owner, great staff, impeccable service!
