Order this meal while visiting DC from delivery service, so can't speak of the atmosphere or customer service. However, the food was well portioned and had wonderful flavor. The food was labeled and presented well. Pork dumplings and Chicken Chow Main.

So I am staying in the area and was starving. I was craving fried rice and discovered this place on UberEats. I chose the chicken, beef, and shrimp, fried rice extra spicy to have delivered. I must say this did not disappoint at all. The rice tasted like God himself made it. It was delicious and just the level of spicy I love. I have been telling everyone I know about how delicious it was.

Great Chinese takeout — nothing fancy. Been going here for years. The food is delicious, and the proportions are generous.

Not going to lie... Based on the existing rating, my partner and I were a little cautious even after the re-opening. Although the food lacks the spicyness we're used to, we're glad to report that it is otherwise well-executed American Chinese food! And it's quite affordable for the area, too! The hot and sour soup is truly legit, so give that a try. Please note that this place is take-out only though. Shout-out to the guy manning the front - he's been chill every time we've been there, busy or not, and it feels good knowing that he remembers us and other regulars.

Really tasty. Perfect level of "normal" spicy. Great veggie fried rice. The only disappointment was that I didn't order more spring rolls! I'm used to them coming in 2-packs at other places but they come individually here.

Defiantly a game changer. This literal hole in the wall spot has given me faith in chinese food again. The order method is simple, modern, cool. The service is fast. Most importantly the food is fresh, good qulaity, and well proportioned. I saw a decline in the quality of chinese food since the 90s similar to the decline of McDonalds since the 60s. This shop is actually putting forth effort and not carrying the attitude of, "these people wont know if its good or bad." The chicken is crispy and glazed. Not soft like it didnt get fried and its been sitting in the sauce for an hour. No dine-in just excellent fast chinese. Try It. fair prices too. They even do a $25 Peking duck I gotta try.

Delicious, authentic, fast, and wide selection of traditional chinese food, for a really great price and two for one deal. Really big portions (so value for money), enough for two people or 2 meals! Iced tea was very generous in serving size and to taste. Recommend thr chicken with brocoli, perfect temperature, low fat cut, and brocoli was everything you could ask for.

I have been coming here since the late 90s. Always great quality food and excellent service. I am on vacation in DC and as a tradition I always take my kids. They enjoy their lunch today during our walk in the city. Excellent eats. We were told that the old dining rooms were closed during covid so we ate in the take out area downstairs. They are finally relocating to a new full service dining room in Adam's Morgan in a few weeks. I'll be back!

City Lights of China is great, they make the best xiao long bao (soup dumplings) I’ve ever had! Also super cheap for big portions of vegetarian lo mein and fried rice with lots of flavor - and the fried rice is generous on the eggs too. Highly recommend!
