Excellent, hardy and well prepared pasta. Elegant and straight forward mains with innovative and tasteful sides. Perfect portions and reasonable price point. The Italian wine selection is superb. My fav so far are the tortelli, the scallops with chanterelles and the season fruit crustini dessert.

A new DC restaurant that is worthy of the hype...unique, charming ambience and food that is as delicious as it is visually stunning. The cocktails are amazing too...run don’t walk! The calamari and squash blossoms were standouts...we also loved the scallops and tortelli/chitarra pasta dishes!

The food is absolutely amazing. The pasta was fresh and the ingredients that came with each plate made a perfect match. Love the ragu with Pappardelle!! The restaurant atmosphere is cozy and beautiful.

The restaurant is small and intimate, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff are attentive. The food is simply delicious! The grilled calamari was perfectly cooked, and the lobster risotto was creamy and flavorful. The pasta with truffle and mushroom was a treat, and the affogato and panna cotta were both rich. I also enjoyed the Gambita and the Spritz, which were both well-made. I will definitely be coming back!

Omg! The food and the service were Michelin quality. The pasta was freshly made, the grilled calamari was tender and the lamb chops were out of this world. Everything was seasoned to perfection. I shall return...

We came here for a weekday dinner, and it was fully packed. Making reservations in advance is recommended. The food was pretty good. The bread was complimentary, and it’s delicious. We ordered grilled octopus, fried zucchini, pork, ravioli, and the special pasta on that day, broccoli and spinach, and the grilled octopus and the special pasta were both very good. The service was a bit awkward. The front desk staff was not really welcoming, and the waiter forgot our table for a very long time, so that we eventually ran out of time and didn’t order desserts. Overall, it’s a nice restaurant with room for improvement in their services given the relatively higher price range. (Follow me on IG ➡️ miss_dawang)

This was some of the best pasta I’ve ever had. Incredible. The rabbit pappardelle was out of this world. Great atmosphere and buzz. Shame I live 3,500 miles away.

I had the pleasure of dining at San Lorenzo on a delightful Thursday evening, enjoying the pleasant outdoor seating area and the gentle breeze. To commence my culinary journey, I indulged in a special appetizer consisting of soft crab paired with delectable asparagus. The bread served was simply exquisite, perfectly complementing the flavors of the dish. Moving on to the main course, I was enthralled by the Tortellini filled with the heavenly combination of robiolina and black truffle. This exquisite creation truly captured the essence of Italian cuisine. To accompany my meal, I savored a delightful Chianti Classico Riserva from the renowned region of Tuscany, which elevated the flavors of the dish to new heights. As the evening progressed, I found myself intrigued by the selection of desserts. I ultimately decided on the cheesecake, adorned with a tropical fruit jelly and drizzled with a luscious vanilla sauce. This remarkable creation harmoniously blended the delicate textures of a cheesecake with the exquisite allure of crème brûlée, leaving my taste buds thoroughly satisfied. The service at San Lorenzo was nothing short of impeccable. I had the privilege of meeting Chef Massimo, whose culinary expertise shone through in every dish. The manager, Christina, was an absolute delight, ensuring that every guest had a truly remarkable dining experience. Her keen attention to detail was exemplified when she promptly replaced my wine upon noticing a bug that had inadvertently found its way into the glass. Such meticulousness truly left an impression. Despite dining al fresco, I couldn't resist the opportunity to explore the interior of the restaurant. Its charming ambiance transported me back to fond memories of my visits to Florence, evoking a sense of nostalgia reminiscent of family-owned establishments. In summary, my experience at San Lorenzo was nothing short of extraordinary. From the carefully crafted dishes to the exceptional service, every aspect of the evening was a testament to the culinary mastery and dedication of the team. Whether savoring the exquisite flavors outdoors or immersing oneself in the charming interior, San Lorenzo is undoubtedly a destination that captures the essence of fine dining and leaves a lasting impression on its fortunate patrons.

Outstanding food. We had bruschette and calamari as appetizers and rabbit pappardelle and tortelli as mains. (5 star review corresponds to the food. Service has room for improvement)

We had the 4 course tasting menu. The food was excellent. Portions were very good especially for a tasting menu. Service was good. If we lived in DC, we would be regulars here.

We had a fantastic dinner at San Lorenzo! The service was fantastic and extremely caring. We were unable to get a table during our reservation time, which was already not a problem because they have a lovely bar to eat at, but the manager Christina took special care of us because of the inconvenience. The food was spectacular and dessert was perfect. I can’t wait to return!

Fantastic!! Easy to walk past but you'll regret it if you do. Easy to reserve on OpenTable and a true Italian gem! Full bar, flawless service and food - every time. Everything is authentic from.the rustic crusty breads to the handmade pastas. A great place for a quiet dinner. Consider taking Uber as parking isn’t great in this part of town.
