If you're a coffee lover, this is absolutely THE place to check out! Handcrafted lattes, macchiatos, quality espresso! It's a small coffee shop and the prices are reasonable!
The Café Mocha was delicious, great balance of coffee and mocha flavor, sweet, but not too sweet. I'll have it again!
One of a Kind Gem. This is the most unique coffee/tea shop I've ever been to and I am a huge fan of those so I go to a lot of them weekly. It's small and quaint but truly a gem not to be missed. If you are in Chintatown do yourself the favor and stop by this place, they have the most unique and high quality selection of coffees & teas here but that's not all they also have beer, wine and absinthe! Yes, I said beer, wine and absinthe are also at this coffee shop. Other than the liquids, they also have Pastries, muffins, sandwiches, cookies, cupcakes, yogurt, and chocolate. I'd give it 5 stars because it's truly one of a kind and I am really tempted to add that one star but the interior could use a little better upkeep.
Thanks Urbanspoon! Touring The National Gallery and wanted a non-Starbucks coffee. Found this place and had an excellent cap plus a bonus chocolate chunk cookie that was delicious.
Great Cappuccino!. Finally DC has a place where you can get a GREAT cappuccino! The quality of the coffee here is outstanding with a great selection. The milk in the lattes and cappuccinos is rich and frothy. Staff is efficient and friendly. And there's free WiFi. On the whole, this independent coffee house is a cut above Starbucks (but with Starbucks prices). The main drawback is the atmosphere: it's a bit sterile and not very inviting. I would suggest more comfortable seating and some art work.
I wandered in for a new place to try, and was pleasantly surprised. Ordered a latte and had a smooth, delicious cup. I even went back into the store after I'd walked a block away shopping my coffee so I could but a bag of their freshly roasted beans to take home. Great staff, clean store, warm but stuff professional. I'll be wandering back for sure.
Overall an excellent coffee shop with highly knowledgeable baristas. The only downside is it needs slightly better lighting. But I thinks it’s a great place.
Best coffee in the neighborhood, great space and light but could be improved with warmer furniture pieces like a couple couches or chairs with some fabric to them.
I thought I knew good coffee, then I found this gem of a coffee house. Very knowledgeable staff that are passionate about a wide range of topics. Happy that I have this place to add to my morning routine.
Excellent coffee. Great hand pours, which is typically what I go for. Baristas are knowledgeable and very friendly.
I finally got to try the coffee here. I have to say it was decent espresso. Staff could not have been more friendly. They helped me choose a fantastic coffee for my friend's birthday. They were able to ground the coffee so it will work with a French press. The coffee is a bit pricey compared to other coffee shops in the area. The vibe is more relaxed. The lighting is a bit dark due to it being in a row house.
Beautiful brick wall and long communal working tables. The staff is kind and friendly, and the tea and coffee are delicious.
Always knowledgeable about their own product and everything else going on in the neighborhood. If you're lucky enough to be there during a lull in the rush when they have a chance to talk you can learn a lot.
Kind of a little hidden gem that you might miss if you’re not looking for it. Very small space but really what I was looking for this Saturday morning. Employees were very friendly and this place seems to attract a local crowd. Ordered a mocha and scone which were placed on the bar in less than a minute or less after ordering. Mocha didn’t taste too sweet and even had a leaf in the froth. If you’re looking for something low key within the DC city limits, at least today, this was the place. The food selection is very limited and overall premade “retail” products as I heard the staff mention. Prices are reasonable and has a hip feel to the place including the low played but relaxing music. If you want to have quiet time and a cup of delicious coffee this is the destination.
They have Kyoto style slow drip cold brew! It's hard to find, but it creates amazingly strong, smooth, and flavorful coffee. It is significantly more expensive than regular coffee, but it's definitely worth trying. I like to have it on special occasions. The decoration is sparse, industrial, and modern. The staff are very nice. Don't go there expecting good food, though. The choices are minimal and the biscotti was terrible, with way too much sugar and an unexpected plastic texture. Instead, walk outside and grab food elsewhere. They are located right in Chinatown, after all.
