Great food. Owner and servers are totally genuine people and the drinks are killer. Amazing cider list, good selection of beers and whiskeys too!
We really loved the food and experience at Thally. Our dishes and drinks were phenomenal. We had the catch of the day which was cooked to perfection, and the accompanying beet and squash purees with asparagus made for a flavorful and complex dish. The staff and service were exceptional from the bartender to the server to the owner. We're excited to go back.
Nice place! Writing this after I came from there, and the experience was fantastic! The bread provided as an appetizer was very tasty, and although the meal I ordered was not that good, I was allowed to pick another one FREE OF CHARGE! This is an incredibly important feature that I wish more restaurants adopted. The house ice cream was nice as well, and I went home to write this review very satisfied!
Delicious food, perfect cocktails and nice staff.
This is one of the friendliest restaurants in the area. Their food quality is always on point, they have a awesome selection of small batch bourbons and they bend over backwards to take care if you.

Went to Thally for DC Restaurant Week. I ordered the striped bass with succotash, spiced shrimp with carrot slaw, and chocolate cake. All were very tasty. The fish and the shrimp were fresh and perfectly seasoned. I especially enjoyed the romantic and intimate ambiance. The restaurant is cozy and quaint. The dimly lit candles were a nice touch, and I absolutely loved our window seat. Great date night spot! #CityExperts
Still hands down one of the best places in the city. Amazing food, menu switches up often using local ingredients, great friendly staff, owner is awesome, and an impressive bar, beer, and wine selection. Been going for a couple years and it hasn't disappointed me yet.
Usually pretty busy, but energetic crowd. Bar has a great whiskey selection. The arugula salad and tacos are delicious starters. Definitely Recommend the panko crusted pork schnitzel as the main dish.
After walking by this place several times, I decided to finally check out their happy hour. They offered great drink specials, including $4 beers (with a great selection), and $2 off wine and cocktails, as well as $4 bar bites. The happy hour specials here last until 7:30, which is longer than most DC happy hours. The place was mostly empty when I arrived, but it had a swanky vibe with exposed brick and catchy artwork. The bartender, Chris, was very friendly and immediately helped me pick out a great wine. A friend joined me at the bar and Chris kept our glasses filled and provided great food recommendations until we left. The duck tacos (which were a special) and potato croquettes were excellent. I will definitely be back!
Recently went to grab dinner before a party. They didn't have any tables available but sat us at the bar. I got a cocktail that was delicious and shrimp and grits that were amazing. This was my third time there, they always have interesting drinks and food.
Thally is a great spot to snag a pre or post dinner drink at on 9th street. They have cider both by the bottle ($15-40) and by the glass as well as a solid cocktail and beer list. The food is wonderful as well. The risotto (~$19) was PHENOMENAL and definitely better than the steak and schnitzel (which were both decent).
