I almost feel I shouldn't review because we were with a huge AAA group (40) and limited on what we could order and, naturally, the wait-staff were pretty overwhelmed with trying to get all our orders and see to beverage needs. Our dishes were all fine, but I'd want to come back for a personal visit because the plates being delivered all looked really delicious!
I wanted to rate, however, because despite our huge group, everyone received their food. There were a few glitches, 2-3 people had to wait a long time for their food, but otherwise they performed well. We could see there were a lot of locals and they all seemed to be enjoying themselves.
Wonderful breakfast menu. Everything is fresh and made to order. They were very accommodating and nice. We liked it so much we went back again for breakfast and one evening for drinks. Great little place with a cozy atmosphere.
Restaurant adjoining the lobby of the Hilton Garden Inn. But more its own restaurant rather than a hotel restaurant. Updated, current feel to the place. Lots of windows - and some nice outdoor seating. I like the bar area as well. A good, solid restaurant overlooking a bustling intersection.
I stopped in for happy hour one day and checked out their menu. They have a large menu specializing in American food, which has more variety than nearby restaurants. The prices were reasonable as well. The place itself was cute, though the decor was a little confusing about the restaurant theme. I settled for a beer and my friend had the chicken quesadilla, which was alright. I suppose if I'm craving something American, this would be the place to go, as they have so many options to choose from.
I always have a good time here, food is decent, sometimes great. I come here with co-workers for lunch mainly, so can't comment on dinner or breakfast, but lunch is always solid. Friendly staff. And cold, cold beer!
This one was a sleeper for me. Nice enough decor & attentive service. Who could have guessed that I would one of the better clam chowders I,ve had, followed by probably the best Herb Roasted Chicken ever! It was very tasty and, unlike most, very, very moist (and delicious!!). Came back today for lunch and again got woderfull service and above average food. This will definitely be one my regular stops when I'm in DC!!
Great Lunch. Four of us had lunch at the M Street location in DC ... three adults and a child of 8. All of us enjoyed our meals that we selected from a wide variety of interesting choices. Service was attentive and friendly. The restaurant is relatively new at this location so the surroundings are fresh and clean.
I've come here several times and most recently on Mothers Day. The food is always flavorful, the portions are great and the service always magnificent! The bison burger-my most recent order is well cooked and the sweet potato fries are the perfect pairing. The location is also great. Usually I walk or rideshare here, for Mothers Day I drive around and found parking on the street however there are a few parking garages nearby. I will be back!
Easy choice for a quality and fast dinner for 1 or small group. The room feels bustling. The service was very personal and professional. The menu is pretty standard fare. My steak was properly cooked and tasty. The mussels were very tasty.
Cafe Deluxe was attached to the Hilton we stayed at while in D.C. so we ate breakfast here. It was solid the first morning but reaaally good the second morning we ate here. Service was great from all staff and the food was cooked as ordered...try the breakfast burger, it's very tasty!
A clean and very reasonably priced restaurant that has a right angled bar and high top tables in the bar area along with a more formal sit-down area that is about the same size as the bar area. The restaurant is not big but they have a full bar and a very diverse menu. There aren't many vegetarian entree choices, but they do feature some side plates and shareable items that are vegetarian. The staff were all very friendly. There are several TV scattered throughout showing Sports.
An awesome little bistro. Ate there twice and was not disappointed either time. Service was prompt and the servers attended to you even if they were not assigned to your table.
Was here three years ago. The food and service is still as good today as it was then. I highly recommend.

Visiting DC for the weekend with my husband, and we just fell in love with Café Deluxe on 22nd & M Street!
The staff was so welcoming and pleasant, the atmosphere was relaxed, friendly, and perfect for brunch. We sat on the patio and were served by Derwin who was also our awesome bartender, and had a voice so amazing that he should do voiceovers... just saying 🤷🏾♀️...
anywho... the Cinnamon Apple Sangria and Sparkling Sunrise Mimosa were pure perfection. The Avocado Toast made an excellent appetizer to split, even though it's an entree, and it was DELICIOUS! It's made with strips of turkey bacon, and I normally DO NOT like turkey bacon at all, but Café Deluxe's preparation and pairing of it had me at a loss for words because it was JUST THAT GOOD!
I had the Ham & Gruyere Omelette and my husband had the Southwestern Benedict, and the taste and presentation were both impeccable. Café Deluxe had definitely set the bar very high for other comparable brunch spots. 5 out of 5 would recommend!
This chicken pot pie is delicious! It looks larger than it is as well-- the beautiful top covers the entire bowl but only center is filled with broth, veggies and chicken. Besides being delicious the veggies still have a crispness to them. Definitely my favorite meal on a rainy day in the city. Great wait staff at the bar too!
I was staying in the hotel attached to Cafe Deluxe, so I stopped in for breakfast takeout to take to my conference at the hotel down the street.
From the time I walked in, I felt welcome.
I was greeted at the door, by a very friendly young man who promised he'd get my breakfast in under 15 minutes -- as I told him I was running late. He kept his promise. 😊
While I was waiting for my breakfast, I was asked by the hostess and three waiters if I was okay or if I needed anything.
I loved it! Everyone was so kind.
To top it all off I think the breakfast was the absolute best takeout breakfast that I've ever had! It was de-lish! 😋
Be sure to give them a try.

I was so pleased I even tipped the waiter ... something I rarely do for takeout. The service has to be exceptional for me to do so, and it was! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Despite having that dot or whatever in my water, the food was delicious. I had a crab cake and my Mom had the sole. She loved the sole so much that I had to find out of I could get the food delivered to our place which they did. The hostess and the waiters were are wonderful.
The peach sangria was tasty too!

After multiple flight delays and a sprint through DFW I arrived at my hotel 7 hours late around 8:30 pm.
Requiring a down home classic meal, I walked the 1/2 block to Cafe Deluxe and boy am I glad I did.
Being solo I sat at the bar and was greeted politely by the bartender, Jito.
After scanning the menu I chose the Chicken Pot Pie and it was delicious. When initially presented I thought it might serve as at least 3 meals. However, it was a perfect single serving - much lighter fare than I first thought.
The crust (which was thin, flaky and crispy) only covered the top of the bowl. The chicken was tender, the gravy was creamy without being thick and had a hint of sherry, not overpowering.
Cafe Deluxe has a classic architecture, dark wood, with a professional mood while avoiding a jacket and tie atmosphere.
Overall, a great dining experience.
