The best authentic Mexican food I've had. Great service, fast. Definitely a must go to restaurant.
A little pricey but worth it � Margaritas are super delicious and the food is amazing
We had a large table and a few people at our table purchased a pitcher of margaritas. I am pretty sure the pitcher was the margarita mix only and no tequila at all. My fajitas were great, the salsa is pretty good and the queso is good but it tastes like melted Velveeta cheese. Cute atmosphere. You can eat outside on the sidewalk. Quesadillas are really good also.
This place has great food. You are received by a big bowl of recently made chips and salsa. The cup of cheese is great with chips too. Carne asada and fajitas are delicious, comes with fresh home made tortillas. And if you need some help, CLAUDIO, the manager is absolutely professional and he will make sure you have an amazing experience while you are there. I will certainly come back.
Great place to have lunch. Relatively cheap and affordable! Good atmoshpere and friendly staff. Would totally recommend this to anyone looking for good Mexican!
Best brisket tacos ever!!! The food gets 5 stars. We sat outside, so it was very noisy. The outdoor area gets 3 stars. The service was quick and polite.
Good Casual Mexican Restaraunt. Fresh tasting, casual Mexican food in DC?..Really? Yep. While visiting DC last year, my local friends thought I'd feel at home dining at the Cactus Cantina. They were right. I liked it. But, after only one good experience I hesitated on posting a positive review. Now after my second visit and referring a few of my friends that like casual Mexican food and they too had good experiences, I feel obligated to give the Cactus Cantina.
As advertised, the chips and tortillas were very fresh. Wonderful, friendly, fast service - very attentive. On par, pricewise, with a Chili's, but the food is WAY BETTER! We will seek out this the next time we are in DC!
Best Mexican we have ever had!!. We ate at Cactus Cantina while on vacation in the DC area. The salsa was the most delicious thing ever and we could have eaten vats of it! Our dinners were fabulous and the ingredients were fresh.
We are going back to DC in April and we plan on eating at least 1 meal at Cactus Cantina while we are there! Keep up the great work!!!
Great food. Being from Texas it has been hard to find ANY good Mexican food restaurants around DC. Cactus Cantina is the closest thing to TX Mex we have found that doesn't make me sick and is great to eat. Yummy food!

A friend and I grabbed a late bite earlier this evening. We both got an order of the beef fajitas, margaritas (original frozen w/ salt), and flan for dessert. Total with tax and tip = $50. Not bad considering the quality (and quantity) of food. We were both stuffed as the generous portion of fajitas comes with a heaping side of rice and beans.
My only complaint about CC is that it's extremely noisy. I don't recommend sitting inside on weekends -- there are tons of screaming kids there (but outdoors is OK). Tonight it was bad, but still not as bad as on weekends.
Love the meal. Has the feel of a Mexican cantina, delicious Mexican entres...lots of choice. All of us at a table of 16 enjoyed the meal - good choice for large groups. Desert was a hit too. Effecient service and professional operation that's been around for years.
We stopped here briefly before our concert at the National Cathedral. We should have made reservations ahead of time because it was absolutely packed. But we were able to get what we needed and get back out in time.
Fun, buzzy restaurant with good prices on drinks and fine but not mind-blowing food. The ceviche was exceptional, the rest is pretty typical of a Mexican restaurant, but not bad at all! I'd return for the strong drinks and the lovely atmosphere and thar ceviche.

Atmosphere was great. Staff was friendly & efficient. Food was delicious.
2nd visit-had a few hiccups but our server Ryan was excellent, very responsive & quick to resolve our issues. My shrimp enchiladas were excellent. My companion had beef tacos & he enjoyed them.
3rd visit was ok. Very rowdy table close to us foos was ok. Server could barely speak English. DON'T bother getting a Margherita, almost $18 for barely 12oz of beverage, then after adding ice, it's even less. It's not worth it.
I'm from Texas and I can say they have very good Mexican food, but the service is lacking, even though they were not very busy. We arrived early afternoon and it took a while to get drinks served and take the order. Then, when the order came out there were only three meals for the four of us. We waited while they cooked the other order and brought it out. We had a good time and especially enjoyed the soft beef tacos, but we did a lot of waiting. They should have made the fourth meal they forgot complementary, but all they did was say they were sorry it took so long.
My first time eating here couldn't have been better. My friends come here often and ordered their favorite quesadillas. I ordered a combination plate of beef (shredded not ground), chicken and cheese enchiladas. We just had to wait a few minutes to get a table outside. The atmosphere was so nice with a lot of happy people enjoying good food on a beautiful day.

My favorite place in washington dc. I had dinner twice and loved steak fajitas served with beans, rice and avocado salad and tortillas which are made in front of us. Service and meals are excellent. Ambiance is really nice. It is mostly crowded and you may wait for a place unless you do not have a reservation in a rush hour. Highly recommended!
A kids playground that serves TexMex! This restaurant is well integrated into the neighborhood. The food flavors are dimmed for the local population. Drink more to compensate. Extensive amount of outdoor and indoor seating. Outdoor seating is first come, first serve. Good venue for large groups. Staff is very friendly and helpful. This is a venue for families and friends to hang out. If you want authentic Mexican food look elsewhere.
