Since I moved out of the DC area, I miss this place SO much. Whether its dinner, lunch or brunch the food is excellent (save room in your stomach for their unbelievably amazing Key Lime pie), the bar selection is awesome, whether you want beer, wine or spirits, they have books you just won't find in so many other places or even online, the bands on weekends are a lot of fun to listen to and they have a lot of cool events too. There is just something for everyone there, anytime of the day. I went there to eat, I went late at night after a movie for dessert and coffee, I went there to browse while out on a morning jog, I went there to drink and always enjoyed myself, no matter when I went there. Employees are great too. Bookstores and restaurants are both low-margin businesses, but somehow this place survives and thrives - make sure it stays that way and patronize it a lot, so it's there for the next time I'm on a visit to DC!
Highest marks for food and service! A great little unassuming place to feed your body and mind and rest your feet. I recommend everything on the menu, give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.
Great bookstore. It’s not large, but they have all the bestsellers and trendy books as well as a nice selection of classics/cult books in every genre. Layout makes it easy to search for a particular book or to just browse. There’s also a coffee shop and a cafe in the back.
The food and staff here are amazing! Emily was my waitress tonight and did an amazing job making me feel special on my birthday. She got me a candle and said happy birthday, it was simple and perfect. The food, drink and dessert was incredible. I would have loved more sauce but other than that the bookstore/eatery combo is brilliant.
We received a very great service! For our surprise the server speak Spanish and is more comfortable for us. 😊 The food is very tasty and the mimosas too, very cold. Highly recommended. 👌 The atmosphere is very nice. Besides being a bookstore.
Kramers is such a lovely bookstore! There are truly so many books, as well as other items book lovers will enjoy (think tote bags, magnets, etc.). The vibe is amazing, and there are plenty of people — it’s a lively place!
Everything you could ever want from a bookstore and MORE ! Great selection of books, I loved that they had a staff recommendations section. Then out of nowhere they also had a café that smelled out of this world. I need to come back here and spend more time (and money) here. It had a great crowd too, you can tell how popular this place still is.
I went to Kramers last week and I absolutely loved it. The staff were all super nice, they had a massive selection of books, and the added bonus of a cafe and bar took it over the top for me. I’d definitely come back!
Have taken several international groups here in the past, and Kramers is always a hit. The menu is a bit small, but that can also be useful with larger groups. Food is excellent, nice beer selection, and staff are always nice as well. The chance to go peruse books while you're waiting for food is also nice as well. Highly recommend the patio out back when the weather is nice. Am planning on making a late night visit sometime as well.
One of the bigger bookstores in DC! What makes Kramers unique is that they offer a full menu of food and drinks along with an outdoor and indoor patios to dine in! They have a great selection of books with other fun items like puzzles, journals, knick knacks all laid out well. Their busiest times are Sundays due to the nearby farmers market so I'd recommend going during the weekday. Their French toast was really delicious too! Great shop to visit in the DuPont area!
I can’t wait to go back! The atmosphere, the bar and dining area was so beautiful! I kid you not I had THE best pretzel of my entire existence there! I will go back just for the pretzel & ofc walking around the bookstore after is such a treat! 🥸💌
An amazing little cafe hidden inside of a bookstore ! The French toast was absolutely fire
