Really good food! The owners are very friendly as well. The sandwiches are huge; good for sharing! A bit pricey for sandwiches, but otherwise, worth a visit.

Bub and Pop’s is a cute hidden gem in Washington D.C. that’s been featured on the show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. This little Sandwich Spot tucked in DuPont circle has a cute and charming decor. We got their Roast Pork sandwich which has Slow Roasted Porchetta, Pesto, Aged Provolone cheese, and Pork Jus. The sandwiches are priced at $10 for a half sandwich and $18 for a full sandwich (yes, a little pricey than what you'd find at regular sandwich spots)

The best sandwiches in DC, by a wide margin. Bub & Pop's packs their bread with enormous portions of top-notch ingredients.

Everything on the menu is superb; not only the sandwiches (that beef brisket and the bolognese!), but the clam chowder, chips, and desserts (deep-fried PB&J) are all outstanding. The kitchen is incapable of making anything that disappoints.

The worst thing I can say is that B&P is no longer a secret. The lines can be long, but the service is efficient, and the food is always always always worth it.

I finally made it to this tiny, wonderful spot.  I had half a Bolognese Parmesan, which was still incredibly substantial.  The sandwich was filled with a 3 meat ragout, which was really good, but very difficult to keep together.  I needed about 12 napkins, but would happily get it again.  Looking forward to exploring other unique options on my next visit.  The owners seem like great people and I'm glad they seem to be thriving.

Fell into this place by accident. Fresh homemade sandwiches and awesome French bread pizzas. Owners very friendly and helpful. Amazingly kind to my young daughter too making modifications to menu items. Must return for more.

I went to Bub and Pops for lunch which is a cute little sandwich shop in downtown DC. I had the Italian Hoagie which was really good! All the ingredients were fresh and high quality. I enjoyed how they made it unique by adding arugula and melted pecorino Romano on top of the sub. Oh and please try the homemade potato chips, they were delish. It was a nice surprise to find this little gem!

Titanic. Gargantuan. Leviathan(ish?). All words that I would use to describe the 12” Pepperoni Pizza Steak from Bub and Pop’s just as much as I would for mythical sea monsters. Both that sandwich, and the Real Obama which my wife ordered in a much more reasonable 6” size, were dizzyingly packed to the brim with juicy, mouth watering meat, cheese, sauce, and vegetables. It’s the type of sandwich that you need to gasp for breaths between bites so it doesn’t drag you beneath the depths of a flavour abyss. Holding it all barely together are delightfully crunchy and chewy hoagie rolls that do a titanic effort but ultimately leave you needing a sink and towel, depending on the sandwich you order. The Real Obama might be forgiving enough to let you rush off to a quick WH Press Conference, but abandon all hope, ye who enter (the pepperoni pizza steak into your mouth). If this review leaves you chuckling, wondering if I’m being a tad dramatic (but maybe not as much as Jules Vern or Herman Melville), then just know that the sandwich made me do it.

One of the best sandwiches I’ve had! We tried the Italian hoagie and rich boy, both equally delicious. The rich boy (fried shrimp) was loaded with shrimp, they did not skip out on the ingredients. Very affordable and highly recommend!

There is much to say about a sandwich joint that is basically a window where you pick up your food but…THE FOOD is amazing. I was in the area and was craving a chicken parmigiana. This had to have been the biggest sandwich I have ever seen in my life. I kid you not, it was two feet long, and delicious. The chicken in the sandwich was crisp on the outside and moist on the inside. The bread was the right balance of squishy to absorbent ratio and the sauce was delicious. Such great value for $24 I will be sure to try other sandwiches as they all seem great. I forgot to take a picture, sorry…it was so good I just ate the whole thing.

We're lucky to have these guys. Phenomenal subs with a creative and evolving menu. Market prices for the quality, but don't worry because these sandwiches are heavy. Service depends on the mood of the server. Be patient and remember the world doesn't revolve around you. They get crazy busy during their lunch pop.

Bub and Pop's is a really good sandwich joint in northwest DC. We ordered two sandwiches, their Italian and their chicken salad. First up with no photo which I'm sorry for is the Italian. This sandwich had plenty of meats, pecorino, and provolone cheese. Along with their version of a vinaigrette and both sweet and hot peppers. The bread held up for the most part and the flavors were there. The chicken salad came on the same sub roll with the same vinaigrette and sweet and hot peppers again. Both sandwiches suffered from the same problem with was to many wet ingredients which degraded the rolls. Also I have not had a chicken salad sandwich with vinaigrette, sweet, and hot peppers before. I would probably hold those items next time. Also provolone cheese seems to be the only cheese option just a heads up. Service was great and they have good flavors. I'll be going back for sure.

I can see how this had become a DC institution. Serving up overflowing sandwiches packed with flavor in a land of overpriced, underwhelming fast casual sandwiches, Bub and Pop's is a clear winner. The half hoagie is a perfect size for lunch or order a full and split it with someone. There are also seats up for grabs as part of the Golden Triangle along the street, but they are directly in the sun with no shade whatsoever.

Dang. Really good, messy sandwiches. We got the Italian which was incredible and the fried chicken cutlet hoagie. Both were amazing. Both had the vinaigrette and hot peppers. Large portions and efficient service. We went when they were busy and it didn’t take too long. We will be back!!

Very good with way better-than-chain designer deli sandwiches made to order like brisket and a serious cheesesteak. It's a very casual luncheonette style spot, small, about 8 tables plus a couple outside, better to go other than 12-1. They do good breakfast stuff early but the great fried egg sandwich is all day. Now open til 7 except 4 on Saturday when they do a fancy serious small reserved dinner for just 6 or so as the son is a real chef trained at famous places. Those liking mom and pop individualistic eateries will appreciate their efforts.

So I tried the chicken parm sub because it's what I was in the mood for. High quality ingredients for sure, thought it could have used a little more sauce, but solid 4* would return. Two days later, I decided to try the Italian and MY LIFE HAS CHANGED FOREVER. I am a Jersey boy and I've had my fair share of Italian subs but this was unmatched. Absolutely deserving of the rave reviews. I'll be back a little too often and probably put on a few pounds in the next few months.

Delicious hoagies and abundant family love. I got the Philly Special (roast pork w/ broccoli rabe and provolone), which had an unexpected but welcome kick of heat and tang from the pickled peppers, and some added richness and crunch from the pesto-adjacent hazelnut gremolata. And a Bub's Italian Hoagie for later. Can see future cravings for lots of stuff on the menu. FYI: As of March 2023, they're taking orders from outside at the window, and prefer cash.
