I've eaten here in the past a few times and always liked it. I'm pretty sure this is a fully independent franchise because it is nothing like the other Uncle Al's; not that those are bad but they're not worthy of a review good or bad.
This one is worthy of a great review.
Actually, the food is above average and if all you're doing is a quick lunch, it sure as hell beats fast food. It's a sit down place where you'll get a full belly with no frustration. It is clean, it is reasonably fast, it is friendly. What more can you ask for?
I had the "Carolina Dog" with fries. From the brief appearance before I wolfed it down, that a (Boar's Head?) hot dog with chili, mustard and slaw (no substitutions, sayeth the menu) on a fresh steamed bun. I devoured two. Fries were plentiful and the Pepsi (no Coke!) was refilled without my asking.
I'll be back.

Good Dogs & Great Service. Get your dogs like you want them fully loaded or plain Jane... While some turn their noses up @ the classic hot dog there are other good soups and sandwiches to be had as well. Its kind of classic lunch counter diner. Clean, well lit, & friendly. Enjoy.
My Usual Please. There are few diners I visit time, after time, after time. Uncle Al's is one of them. I've never been disappointed at the service, the food or the atmosphere. Roomy booths, wide spaces, simple uncluttered decor, and most importantly, very clean, top to bottom. I highly recommend it for your lunch menu.
Welcome Back!. Many years and years ago this place was great. However, in the past few years the restaurant had really gone downhill. So much so, my wife and I quit bringing the kids in there. Dinner tonight was great. We really enjoyed everything. The new menu looks great. We'll be back.
