Good food friendly place and Tammy was the best server, she was quick and accommodating, come here all the time, would recommend it to everyone
Friendly staff - great food and prices are reasonably low. I would highly recommend for breakfast or lunch .
Good food, but when the restaurant is busy food takes a while to get your food. Overall the restaurant has a homey feeling with American breakfast classics nothing fancy just a good breakfast at a solid price.
Large portions. Juice good. grits tasted like water. Needed flavor like some cheese or bacon fat. French toast was nice. Fairly typical bfast diner. Old decor.

Good Food, Low Prices. First time going to Waffletown USA and have to admit it was good. The restaurant was packed which to me is a good indicator of a great place. Seems to be a family run kind of place, the lady who took us to our table must have been about 80 yrs old! The wait staff are not the super young perky pretty kind you see in other restaurants but they were quick, friendly, and professional. All over the restaurant I saw the wait staff hugging and talking with the people eating there. Seems like a hit with locals. I am pretty picky when it comes to eating out in new places and because the restaurant is a little dated looking did not hold too high of hopes. Boy was I wrong. The food was great and low prices. I ordered a bacon skillet which was hash browns/onions/peppers baked with a few strips of bacon and two fried eggs on top, along with some rye toast. Just over $5. The portion was just right - not too big, not too small. The hash browns were cooked and seasoned perfectly. The eggs and bacon were cooked just right and the toast was fresh and even came already buttered (nothing worse than having toast served to you with a few packs of hard butter - but not here!). Coffee was great. Not too strong not too weak. Husband had the pancakes, eggs and bacon and he could barely finish his pancakes. Service was fast - given that the place was very busy. The waitress was friendly, and efficient - busy though - she had to come back to the table to confirm it was coffee we wanted for our drink. My rye toast came out a few minutes after my meal was served but the waitress had told me it was on the way - so I picked at my hashbrowns until the toast came. The toast was warm and very fresh. Total bill came to just over $15 - with tip we paid just $20 for a good meal for two. We will be back - and hope to make this place our regular Sunday family breakfast outing.
Retro-Cool without trying to be Retro-Cool. This place stopped the clock in the 60s. That's not a bad thing, because they feed you like you're in the 60s as well! You'll want to run home and grab your skinny ties and put a dab Brill-Cream in your hair after you finish your meal.
This place has the retro-cool Silver Diner is trying hard to achieve without trying. In fact, I don't think they're even aware they have it, which makes the atmosphere even more appealing.
Only open for breakfast and lunch, this is the kind of place where you don't stand the remotest chance of leaving hungry. The food is hearty and the servings are generous!

Did fine after the hurricane. Always a favorite going back to when I was a teen. This place is a good feeder. The building is pretty old now and it has more of a dive appearance to it, but they still whip up a great breakfast.
I brought my mother here for brunch last Sunday morning after hurricane Irene and even though they had limited power running from a generator they were able to get breakfast out to the table much faster than I expected.
I had an excellent skillet with fried eggs over bacon & home fries with a side of corned beef hash while mom had pancakes. I don't know how she finished them, there were 3 pancakes and they were huge. Way to go mom.
All and all an excellent meal. We were in and out in about 45 minutes.
Won't you take me to Waffletown?. The family loves this place! The only one to go to is on Shore Drive though...the others don't compare. Reminds me of places I went as a kid with my parents (I think some of the same ladies work there!). Great old-school food and atmosphere and great prices for the money! And...they have REAL country ham!!!
I want to move to Waffletown.. Waffletown is a traditional breakfast dive, and not at all fancy. Like, asking for Eggs Benedict would probably get you roughed up out back. They do simple breakfast food to perfection, though. It's really hard to go wrong with anything on their menu (except some of the lunch items, perhaps), but I'm especially fond of their skillets, which are basically just fried potatoes with eggs and a slice of processed cheese on top. A bit of red bell pepper cooked with the potatoes adds just a touch of sweetness, however, and ties everything together into a transcendent pile of satisfaction. The waitresses are overly familiar, as you might expect, and the owner is usually on hand and quite friendly. I don't live anywhere near here anymore, but still manage to stop in whenever possible. You should do the same.
A very delicious gem! It was our first time visiting and we were very happy with our service received here. Natalie took care of us and went above and beyond for her customers. The coffee was super hot and fresh, the peanut butter cups waffle À la mode was a great way to start my breakfast! The restaurant was very clean and super well kept. Definitely one of my new favorites!
Going here is like stepping back in time. It looks just like it did when I was a kid. The food is great and fairly priced. The staff are attentive and friendly. We try to go here at least once when we are in Virginia Beach. While I don't want them to completely update and remodel, as the look is part of the charm, they could however update the bathrooms a little. Overall, this is a great experience and I highly recommend for both the food and for nostalgia.
We went on Mother's Day, so it was understandable that we had to wait a bit. It was definitely worth the wait! I had driven by Waffletown USA for years, but this was my first visit. It's no-frills dining, and the food is delicious. Tammy was our server, and although she was busy, she took great care of all of her tables. Altogether we had the waffles, pancakes, eggs, grits, bacon and sausage patties. All of our food was great. My waffle was huge, and perfectly cooked: crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Everything was fresh and full of flavor. A great place to take your family (young and old) or hang out with friends. A great value for the money.
This place has good food and good atmosphere. The building looks like it is still in the early 90's, I loved it. All the wait staff the I met were friendly apart from our waitress. She was extremely rude. But that is the only bad thing I have to say. And that's why I only gave them 4 stars.
The food was absolutely delicious and the waitresses are super friendly. This has been the highlight of our surprise trip to Virginia, and I suggest anyone in the area come stop here. I wish this place was closer to my home because I'd love to come here again.
Great food at a great price! I have been going to Waffletown for years now and each time I love it just the same as the last. The workers are very friendly and make you feel at home. I would recommend the Waffle Combo, Pancake Combo or French Toast Combo for a first timer!

Quaint and cozy. A great stop for a bite for breakfast or lunch. Very reasonably priced and portions are large.
Always amazing, has been for the decades I've eaten here. It's family owned, with the family also working there, so you'll always see the same familiar places. Even though the dining room is always full, your food always comes fast, and your cups are never empty. I absolutely love this place and the people who own it and work there, and I was so sad to hear they'll be closing in September. There's no other place around that's like this anymore, and there will never be another one. I wish the whole family the best, you should all be very proud of what you've done, amd the legacy you'll leave behind. This is a true Virginia Beach gem that will never be forgotten. Thanks for the memories.
This is the best waffle I've ever eaten. The waffle was cooked perfectly and had a nice crunch and great texture. The waffle handled the warm syrup without becoming soggy or mushy.
