So this place was featured on Diner’s, Drive Ins, and Dives….it didn’t disappoint. Flavor and execution are 110% there. “Another” review will not do it justice, this is a first hand experience you have to go through in person. The calamari was superbly done, light, flaky, seasoned and crisp. The lasagna with lamb was out of this world, the flavors of the lamb, the fresh cheese, and the acidity of the sweet sauce just melded to make a unique flavor. The DDD Stuffed Meatball was gigantic in size and flavor, a simple dish done simply right. Nothing over the top, good pasta, a hearty sauce packed with flavor….and a giant stuffed meatball. Awesome!! The Alfredo pasta was just that, a build your own dish. However, the flavors were there, creamy butter sauce and cheese with chicken and mushrooms. Just a good hearty meal. The bakery is on its A game. The lobster tails pastry are phenomenal. Cannot pass the pastries up. Definitely a must stop. Highly recommended!
This rating is for their baked goods. I will have to come back for their entrees. What makes this bakery so special? They have a variety of cakes, biscotti's, Italian and Non-Italian cookies, macarons. I LOVE that they have about 25 biscotti flavors, 20 Italian cookie varieties and about 20 cake flavors. I took home: almond horn, cookies and cream, tiramisu roll and strawberry eclairs. Even the strawberry eclair is unique. Baked in-house you'd expect them to be fresh.
I also got 7 different biscotti flavors. You've got to try Rigoletto's!
If you’re considering a trip to Rigoletto, make it! We came multiple times during our one week stay in the area and miss it already. Authentic & absolutely delicious.
Our lunch was fantabulous pasta w/meatballs and fettuccine w/spinach. I'm sure everything is great based on our meals.
Excellent Italian bakery and cafe. Locally owned, friendly staff, good variety of baked goods, delicious food and wine.
The food and atmosphere is fantastic! Don't even get me started about the bakery! I can never leave there without some dessert, to eat there or take it home. Love the little gifts things you can purchase there, as well. My whole family loves it, so we go at least once a week. Can't get enough!
Virginia Beach's real authentic Italian Bakery. Breakfast, brunch or dinner, the food is profuse and spectacular. My first time here today I opted for the 2 for lunch special consisting of half a panini (I chose Michaelangelo) and house salad with house vinaigrette dressing. The focacio bread was delicious and everything was perfect in combination and quantity. The selection of cakes and deserts was off the charts. I had to choose several to go home with me. The owners were right there to make sure service and food was exemplary. This is definitely worth the trip. Very nice selection of wines as well.
I'm giving them 5 stars for their great selection of mouth-watering desserts! We haven't tried their items from their menu, but looking forward to doing so in the near future.
I did not eat here just came for Christmas desserts. They had the Italian honey balls and rainbow cookies I also got a tray of delicious Christmas cookies my grandson will love just disappointed I couldn't get cream puffs.
The only downside to this place is there are SO many options and you'll want to try them all so apologize in advance to your wallet and waistline. We enjoyed several pastries, all of them better than the last. My personal favorite from this visit was the hazelnut cake- such a spongey and light cake with a perfect hazelnut icing. The staff was super nice and patient with us (it took me a hot minute to decide what to get, there were FOUR DISPLAY CASES OF BEAUTIFUL BAKED GOODS) and the only reason I'm not coming here every other day is because I live an hour away. I just tried pastries this time but look forward to a visit to their bar as well, lots of Italian classics on their menu. If you haven't tried it here yet- go!
