Read the older reviews and was skeptical, but it was really good. Ribs good with good bark. Chopped brisket good bark as well. We were hungry did the "half Nelson" for $30, worth the money. Sauces ok would definitely eat here again.
Back in October, I was on my way to the Ozark Mountains to backpack the Butterfield Trail with the Girl Scout High Adventure Team. I had lunch at Elmer’s as I passed through Tulsa. I’m glad I did. I ordered a two-meat plate (hey, I was going backpacking, I needed protein :) ) of chopped brisket and ribs. The ribs first: they were about 9.5 on a scale of 1 to JTs. Nicely smoked, with a good texture of bark, and wonderful flavor. Nothing tough about them in the slightest. The brisket was pretty darn good as well. Not as much flavor, but very tender, and there was quite a lot of it. I had baked beans (outstanding) and green beans (very good) as my sides.

Been here a few times and maybe they were just having a bad day or what I ordered just wasn't on par. But not today! We both ordered two of their Badwiches, mine no bun add Texas toast with potato salad and baked beans. Boyfriends on bun with potato chips and beans. This was just delicious! You get ribs, chopped beef, Bologna and a hot link! Super value too.
This was pretty standard barbeque - good, but not blow your mind good. I had the ribs and my friend had the badwich, which she loved. The beans and potato salad were great; the potato salad used what appeared to be bread & butter pickles. The sauces are vinegar based, which I (but not everyone) enjoyed. The only thing that detracted from the meal was that the service was a little lackluster. Our waitresses (they tag-team) were polite but missed some glaring details, like giving us napkins or drink refills.
With so many BBQ joints in the Tulsa metro I often forget about Elmer's. The badwich is always a good idea. The potato salad is my favorite in the city. Solid BBQ.
Best BBQ in Tulsa!. Fantastic huge, meaty ribs, brisket, bologna, as well as the baked beans and mashed potato salad! The 3 choices of BBQ sauce will suit anyone's taste. My favorite is the mixed sweet and hot! The owner is sooo nice and will make any problem right. Service is very laid back but friendly. Love the "Jazz" themed decor and music. The food is better every time we go! MMMM!
It's ok. If you're hungry, they have some pretty good BBQ. The side orders are greasy but flavorful.

I think my expectations were too high. It's consistently voted either the best or one of the best BBQ places in Tulsa so I was really expecting to be blown away. Unfortunately, their BBQ is good but not great.
The Badwich is one of the items they're famous for, but they've jacked the price of it so much that it's sort of a pricey sandwich now. I don't obsess too much over the cost of a good lunch, but it's a little steep for a lunch sandwich.
The service is pretty bad at meal rushes. You may never get a refill. They take your order and bring your food and that's about it.
Amazing!! Keith and his staff are awesome. Very good food, had them cater to my baby shower for 40 people and was not badon price. Everytime I come to tulsa its a must to go here!! GO NAVY!!
Great BBQ, One Of Tulsa's Best. The hotlinks are the best that I've ever had, and the ribs are solid. Service is great also. I haven't been back in a while, but only because I prefer a few other places in town. If in the area, Elmer's is my go-to.
Have known Keith for 20+ years. He has always been professional and considerate. The BBQ is exceptional and the sauce is wonderful. I love sliced brisket and pulled pork. I've never been disappointed. We've gotten catering for scouting events and birthdays. We will be using him for graduation and anytime we want excellent BBQ! Thank you!
Wow. I don’t think I’ve met a more charming proprietor in a long time. What a superb lunch experience. Coming into Elmers felt like a warm hug on a cold and rainy day. The BBQ was moist and absolutely delicious. My heart and belly are full.

My favorite BBQ restaurant is open again! Sadly, they closed at the height of the COVID pandemic. I was afraid I would never get to eat their incredible food again. I was so happy when I learned they were open in a new location a little further down Peoria. They actually opened back in January but somehow I didn't know it until now.
Same friendly folks and fortunately, the same amazing food! This is THE barbeque place that I judge all others against. The owner, Keith, said, "Good barbeque makes you happy." Well, I was very happy today! The ribs are my favorite menu item but, over the years, I have had most everything on the menu and it's all good. Pulled pork, beef, chicken, sausage, hot links, you name it, it's good. It's so good that there is no need to use sauce but their sauces are awesome and must be sampled. They have a spice I can't identify that gives them that signature Elmer's taste.
The new place is nice. The blues is still playing and the B B King Epiphone is still proudly displayed. It's in a popular trendy area a couple of blocks south of 31st St. The only drawback is parking. The area was really crowded and parking was in short supply. Don't worry about that though, the Q is worth hunting for a place to park.

Very clean and vibe new spot on Brookside. Attentive owner. Had their seasonal brisket chili and my wife had pulled pork sandwich. The chili is the best we have had in recent memory, unique smoky flavor. Pulled pork sandwich is juicy and pairs well with their sweet mixed BBQ sauce. Cornbread was nice and fluffy, with a sweetness thats not overbearing. We also came way after the lunch time and food was still fresh and top notch. Thanks for the great food and service.
Great little place for quick and easy great tasting barbecue, with great prices and great service. Very personable place! Try the green beans side - super tasty!! And the hot hot hot barbeque sauce was the perfect amount of kick to it! All homemade items!
A full smokey flavored meats. Ribs were good just a little more char that we like. Friendly service and awesome atmosphere.
One of the best gems of Tulsa! I was glad to see it reopened down the street from the original location. Good vibes and added some much needed variety to Brookside.
Found out today that Elmer’s has reopened. I immediately had to stop in and bring company to share the experience! It was like Elmer’s never left and it was a trip down memory lane again. The Elmer’s trademark sandwich “Badwich” is the best experience of the flavor of meats, a rib and sides. It was good to see the same staff from the previous location still here. When you are walking along Brookside, stop in to see the Jazz memorabilia or grab some local BBQ and experience the pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff yourself. Thank you for coming back!

Mr. Keith and his assistant, Ms. Rogelia, came outside with a huge trash can to help me pick weeds, on a hot summer day. Brookside is very blessed to have them on the strip. I highly recommend eating at Elmers BBQ and supporting their business. Great food and awesome service!!!
