Hands down the best Thai food I've ever had. I've eaten Thai in New York, New Jersey, Georgia, Washington, and now Tucson. This place is THE BEST. The service is always incredibly friendly, the Thai tea is delicious, I've not had a bad meal here a single time, the portions are big, and the prices are more than reasonable. I found this little gem of a restaurant while I was exploring Tucson with friends and then had to bring my husband another time because of how good it was. I live an hour and a half away, but I would happily drive up for this food!
I love Karunas! Their Tom Kha soup is the best I've ever had, and I've probably tried it at a dozen different Thai restaurants. The staff is very friendly and the recent renovation is great!
dinner take away last night.the papaya salad and the tom kha gai soup were very good.A small dinner with excellent thai food. The lady owner is not very friendly ,but the good quality of food with the generous helpings make it a good take away joint.A value for money food with a very good blend of flavours .A word of caution about their spice levels
This is seriously the best Thai food in Tucson! My roommate and I love it and order out at least once a week. We recently tried another Thai place but it was NOTHING like Karuna's. I highly recommend the #15 Tom Kai Gai LOVEEE LOVE THIS PLACE!!
Great hole in the wall!. This restaurant is small (seats maybe 15 people total) and hidden in a plaza right across Bookman's on Grant. The menu has a lot of options and very diverse for being such a small place. My favorite dish is the garlic bean sprout with chicken. The portions are just right if not more for a great CHEAP price!! The average entree is between $5-$7. Definitely don't judge the cover on this book! :D
Overall Review- Small restaurant so not good for parties or large families. A great place for quick, cheap, yet authentic Thai food. Great place for those on a budget!
Best kept secret. I cannot stress how much my friends and I love the food & the prices. My favorites are the green papaya salad, and karuna's fryed rice. The food makes up for all downfalls from staff & decore.
LOVE IT!. In my opinion the best pad thai in Tucson. Tried the same thing at Bankok, wasn't nearly as impressed. Good food, great for take-out!
The best Thai food I’ve had here in Tucson. Better than bai thong also better than Luckies Thai Asian cuisine. Not to put them down but I really enjoyed Karuna’s
Walked in and was greeted immediately. The place is small but the food is amazing. Price is decent. Ordered the Fried spring rolls, which was tasty. Beef pad Thai (spicy) really good and Karuna’s Fried rice was also scrumptious. The Thai tea is sweet and delicious. We will definitely be back. If you have not tried and Karuna’s is on your list GO!
Best Asian food in Tucson, hands down. You can go look all you want but you won't find better Thai food in AZ. Food is superb and the staff is always kind. Depending on when you go it might be packed or takeout might be a while cause it's that good.
Pad Thai was so good and the Green Papaya Salad (Soam Tum) was very spicy. Next time I will order it mild. It absolutely reminded me of my vacation in Thailand. The ambience was nothing special. It was very clean.
I'd say this is the best Thai Food in Tucson right now! The portion sizes are just right, the dishes are well seasoned and intensely flavorful.
Just be warned, if you ask for "very spicy" you will get EXACTLY that. So be careful what you wish for! For me, that's just the thing I want in a Thai restaurant.
There were even items and dishes we hadn't seen at any other Thai restaurant.
So definitely come here if you want some fantastic Thai eats!
Karuna's holds a solid spot in my Top Three restaurants in Tucson, no question. The food is beyond excellent. I personally love the Pad Thai, pineapple fried rice and several curries. Prices increased recently, but are still completely reasonable and they had been the same for YEARS. Sometimes the food takes forever to come out; it's worth the wait, in my opinion. I will gladly deal with the rude service (not ALL the time, but still) to enjoy this food. I've never found a better Thai place in Tucson!
We have eaten here three different times and each time it has been excellent and consistent! Have enjoyed the wonton soup, the chicken satay skewers with peanut sauce, and the mango chicken curry. Food is fresh and there’s plenty of it and the flavors are delicious. The staff is friendly and helpful. It’s one of those places where we crave the food and can’t wait to have it again! We request zero on a scale of 1 to 5 for hot spiciness, because we are seriously wimps haha!
One of my favorites Thai restaurants in Tucson, they are wonderful, the service was so nice and the food was exquisite. It’s a must go.
My favorite Thai place state-side! It makes me feel like I’m back in Thailand whenever I eat there. I regularly takeout and dine in.
I haven't had much Thai food in Tucson, but of the three I've tried Karuna's has the best hands down! Their pad thai seasoning can sometimes vary, but the medium is great and let's you know the spice is there! They were closed for a while but they're open again and our house is excited!
Karuna's has the best Pad Thai I've ever tried. The food is always amazing and extremely flavorful. This is the best Thai place in town.
Sometimes there can be a short wait till the food shows, but it's definitely worth it.
I also highly recommend you try the Thai Toast (appetizer #10). The Pad See Ewe is also super good. All the curries are solid.
