Average. When seated for a party of 4, two of our chairs were dirty with stickiness and chip pieces. The complimentary chips and salsa were ok; one was spicy and one mild. The spicy salsa was actually spicy; I liked that. The chips kind on the stale.The service by the server was mid. For our party of four, only two people were given menus. We requested additional menus and were then given. The server did arrive promptly with waters with lemon when initially seated. The waiter never introduced herself by name therefore making it hard to get her attention. She retreated to the work station leaving our table to have to awkwardly wave here down. We order a pitcher of margarita and it served 8 drinks total. However it was a watery, diluted, excessive ice, and sadly only a slight taste of tequila. Not too big of an issue though because she brought a full pitcher and 4 glasses already filled with margaritas; a great bonus. The food arrived in 12 mins. The flavor was average. I was not tasting the seasonings that makes you a lover to Mexican food. I had a machacca burro with enchilada sauce and other had green Chile enchiladas. All four guest felt the same about the lack of pizzaz in food flavor.
It’s sad because the place used to be very popular and so delicious 25 years ago. The prices have increased per post plandemic as expected but the quality and service has declined. I would like to give this place another chance however, I’d feel sad to be disappointed again.
I've been eating here since 1980 with a break from fire damage. There's a new generation of waitstaff, but still a charm. I had the Machaka Chimi, Enchalata style that filled the platter, so I took home enough for my wife. The salsa seemed a lot hotter than usual, so I mixed in a milder cup to make it the heat that I like.
The food was delicious and priced right. Their wine selection was limited, and there was no real dessert menu. My only suggestion would be if it's on the menu, then it should be present.
The food was great, not crowded. Prices are very reasonable, clean and organized the waitress was friendly and on top of things lots of parking. Easy access located just north of I10 on 4th ave.
The food was absolutely amazing and the service personnel were friendly. The location has a strange parking lot and layout, and the proximity is not ideal. But it is very worth the trip to get there.
My husband and I often go here early in the morning on the weekend for breakfast. However, I am not a breakfast person. Luckily there are a few things that I can get at this restaurant that are not breakfast foods.
The staff is competent and our food is always what we ask for, fresh, and hot. Have our food usually within 10 to 15 minutes of sitting down. I think the price is reasonable . I have been eating here for 22 years. I've introduced many friends and family to this restaurant. I think it's a nice little family restaurant.
The one thing that is not friendly is the bathrooms. The bathrooms are always clean, stocked, and stinking too high heaven. For some reason the sewage gases are not vented correctly and so when you go in it smells like sewage. So if you have to go to the bathroom be aware.
Awesome salsa and their entrees were very good
I had dinner here last Saturday evening, been here a lot with my family. Good, delicious food and also great service!!!!! One of best restaurant i even been too!! 🙂🙂
We had the menudo & cheese crisp. Everything was excellent. The service was great!!
Came by myself at off-peak hours on a Saturday. I took a seat, and chips and salsa were brought out. I've been consuming got food for a while, so I was expecting a very mild salsa, but this one had a bit of a bite to it. I am pleasey with it. I ordered Two Machaca (shredded beef) enchiladas, rice and beans, and it was bright out in less than 5min. Nice! I imagine that if I came with a group at a busier hour, it would have taken much longer, but I am still pleased with the speed.
And the food too. Good chips, enchiladas, enchilada sauce, rice, and beans. For $12.50 too.
