Opened under new management since my last visit. Nice clean family run cafe. Pork black beans, rice and fried sweet plantains did not disappoint ! Also tried a homemade empanada and it was superb! Only drawback was old management provided some great Cuban bread with this meal. Not sure if they forgot it or if you had to order it as a side but I missed it especially after seeing some of the best looking Cuban sandwiches I have layed my eyes on arrive at the tables around me. Next time I in town will order the Cuban with aside of beans and rice an a side of fried plantains... Should be the perfect Cuban meal! Service was very good and friendly . Would definitely return!
Reopened, good news for Tampa. Recently reopened under new management. One of my favorite spots in Tampa for authentic Cuban food. Quality is good, servings are generous, and the staff makes you feel right at home. An institution lives on!

The Cubans Sandwiches are Simply Great !. Good food in the restaurant but even better as takeaway. Bring home some Cubans and yellow rice & black beans. Your family will love it and you will too.
Enjoyed an exceptional cup of coffee here today- I must say I buy the best coffee I can find, have used the best brewing machines and this coffee was seriously the best I have tasted in many years! I also had some delicious beef empanadas. Our server took very good care of us and was very attentive. Great experience!
This is an average looking Cuban restaurant with very well prepared food. I've been to five Cuban restaurants in south Tampa and this is the best. The food is great and it is also cheep so you don't need to bring the bank just to walk in.
I had the Chicken breast which was juicy and lemony and we'll seasoned. Succulent plantains and savory black beans and rice at a reasonable price. The place is a little run down but I visit Tampa once a week and will stop by for lunch to try a different item. Uh, I'm hooked!
The best cafe con leche in Tampa! In addition to the excellent cafe con leche's and a menu full of good food, the staff is amazing. This is my favorite spot in Tampa to come to because Carmen, Yvette, Michael, and all of the staff make you feel welcomed and at home. I highly recommend Havana Cafe.. you won't be disappointed! :)
Great Cuban sandwich! So far the best in Tampa. The parking can be tricky so give yourself time to get here. Try the watermelon soda its different.
