Great variety of pastries, cookies and cakes. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. We also tried the beef empanada and devil crab, they were very good. Breakfast sandwich was very good. Great Cafe con leche and the friendliness of the staff was the best part because it’s hard to get good service nowadays. I will definitely be back and recommend people to come check them out.
This is an old school Tampa legend. New ownership in a historic location. Parking is limited, but rarely a real issue. Lots of different choices for treats, cookies, and sweets. Sandwiches and empanadas for takeaway or eating at tables.
I've been looking for a decent old school bakery and decided to check out Housewife. I was highly impressed to say the least.
The have remodeled the building and the menu is vast. Pastries, cakes, cookies, sandwiches, coffee, and more. Nice and cozy dining room. Didn't have to wait for service.
And the baked goods were excellent! I had a creme Berliner and German chocolate cake. I'm only sad that they're so far away from home. Oh well, I'll find an excuse to make the trip again soon.
Wonderful selection of American and Spanish pastries, cakes, and cookies. Beautiful occasional cakes for order. Also has some wrapped sandwiches like Cubans, Tuna and Egg as well as finger foods like croquettes, stuffed potatoes, and different kinds of empanadas. Clean, modern woods in indoor eating area. Prices are worth it with the quality, taste and size of the portions.
Great bakery and cafe. Great staff, good selection, good prices. Apple turnover was amazing. Shout to the staff .
I have been looking for a good cuban breakfast place due to my familiarity with South Florida cuban cuisine. Housewife Bakery & Cafe did not disappoint. Everything they had was exquisite and freshly made. Staff was very friendly and personable. This is definitely my new go to place for cuban breakfast. Also has a wide variety of desserts and baked goods that looked amazing. There will always be something new to try when I come back.
This a staple in Tampa. I hadn’t been here in years so I stopped in for a breakfast sandwich, cafe con leche and some pastries. Everything was amazing. They have some of the best desserts I’ve ever had, guava cheese pastries, macaroons, cannolis, yummy!! If you live in Tampa and have never come here, I recommend you do!

We've had limited selections over two visits, so I'll start at 4 stars and see what happens. First, Gingerbread! It is clear as soon as you pull into the parking lot that gingerbread man is a specialty here oh, so I cannot figure out why none of the other reviews seem to mention the Gingerbread. A friend pointed us here, and even though three out of five in the family typically don't like gingerbread, we gave it a shot and LOVED it! Their gingerbread men (and women) have a more subtle ginger taste, and the texture is like any more conventional cookie (firm but soft and chewy). Unfortunately, the other item we tried once, the bread pudding, was simply awful. The taste and texture were unlike anything we had tasted, almost like burnt soap (which I know makes no sense at all). If we hadn't driven 30-45 minutes before tasting, we would have asked for a refund. The customer service has been very welcoming, so I suspect they would have honored it. It's just a shame the it was such a 180 from the deliciousness of the gingerbread. But at least we had 1 piece of bread pudding vs. 12 gingerbread people!
I have found cachitos and so many other delicious Argentinian/latin/Italian goodies! Very friendly, clean, and welcoming. All pastries and sandwiches I've tried have been yummy. I'm a fan of their breakfast ones. Super rico!
Those that already know this place but haven’t been here since COVID will be pleasantly surprised by the makeover. From the outside you will notice right away the cute murals on both sides of the building, including a photo spot where you can stick your face in a cutout of a gingerbread man! The selection inside is expanded. There’s a hot case with a variety of empanadas, several lunch sandwich selections and the HUGE variety of cookies and desserts! Get yourself a cafe con leche & bring your family or office the pizza scacciatta. I have ordered catering for the office many times in the past. I’m glad they are still around.
