I have eaten many, many times at Portillo's in Merrillville, Indiana. I love Portillo's. I lived in Nevada for 3 years where there was no Portillo's and did I miss it. I live in Florida now and recently found out there was one in Tampa. Had to go and it was just like I remembered. The beef sandwiches are awesome, the polish is my favorite. Please, Please put a Portillo's in the Villages or near by. I think people here would love it. I give Portillo's a 5+++++.
Portillos is the best!! I moved to Florida from Chicago and can’t get good beef sandwiches anywhere else! Worth the 2 hour drive!
Loved the food. I had a bowl with Italian beef and sausage with cheese. It was delicious. My companion had a Chicago dog and an Italian beef sandwich. He thoroughly enjoyed both
Lots of parking. Large dining area that was neat and tidy. Our order was taken quickly and correctly, and the food came out perfect. We were very excited to see the Strawberry Lemon Cake shake still available as it wasn’t in other locations. It was so good! Really feels like any other Portillos you would go into in Illinois!
Food was delicious. Service went above and beyond, but I want to hear more positivity coming from within the kitchen. Atmosphere is beautiful and gave me Disney vibes. Magical in there.
Very cool atmosphere. Definitely takes you back and it's good to have restaurants that serve something different. Prices seem fare. Was clean and fast service
Manager Brooke and the cashiers were very nice and friendly! They were helping us with our big purchase, a loadful of beef to go ($300 worth). They even offered to help us carry them to our car! Very pleasant experience ☺️ 😊. Oh, and the beefs are deliciously marinated with oregano and tons of Italian spices. Their hot dogs are to die for. Highly recommended, you won't regret it. Trust me!
These are my favorite burgers and fries in the Tampa area! And the strawberry shortcake is delicious! The service is always friendly and welcoming.
This is one of my "must haves" when visiting Tampa.
We love Portillos. I am from Chicago, and whenever we see one of these stores, we have to grab a wet beef and a Chi Dog. Food and service at this location were great.
Although I never managed to have a Portillo's hotdog when I was visiting Chicago, I could say that the Tampa branch didn't disappoint! The Italian beef sandwich was moist and the beef was very tender. Be aware though, if you order extra gravy, then the sandwich might be too slippery to hold in your hand. I also ordered both the original and the Polish sausage hotdogs, I think they were just fine. None of the 3 items had excessive flavors.
Whether you are a sweet tooth or not, I highly recommend the chocolate cake shake: not only it has the taste of a regular ice smoothie, you can also grab a hold of the tiny chocolate cake bits that's soft, and I think it complements the overall drink.
The place is a bit pricier compared to those fast-food chains, but it's pretty distinctive compared to them so a visit every once in a while is totally worth it!
Simple, straightforward, american cuisine! Everything was made to perfection. I had the Chicago dog, which I believe is a must try for any adventurous eater in their life. I have to say it is the most unique preparation of a dog I've eaten and in a good way. We also had the cheese fries, I tried the onion rings, and had a chocolate malt shake which was one of the best I've had. The order was on time, correct, and everything you'd need for to go was in the bag (napkins. Utensils, etc.) Absolutely loved the food and the environment, although I took the food to go. Only thing I'd say is their large is quite large so the portion sizes were a little big for me, especially the shake so keep in mind it'll be more than enough, even for some heavier eaters out there like myself.
Fast to order, got the order right. Italian beef and cheese with sauce. Chili dog was great. Kids food perfect. Nice clean restaurant and no complaints! Thank you.
