Arts At The Armory Cafe

We did not have the opportunity to see the whole building outside or inside because we walked to close to the building and just admired the circular structures in the corners of the building. We did not know anything about this building until we saw a full photo of their entrance. We have to comeback to see the inside and update this review.

Interesting building with a large auditorium space with talllllll ceilings. Super cute little cafe inside. I went to see The Moth but it seems like their place in the community arts scene is very well established. Would be cool to live closer to get more involved.

UPDATE EDIT ONE WEEK LATER: I've updated my review from 2 stars to 4. The operations manager reached out and provided an apology and gift card. I've since visited again with my partner and we both agree service was MUCH better/faster. There were two people working which made a world of difference. Our food came out correct and very quickly. It was delicious (though we wish we had a side of honey or honey butter for the biscuit!) and we will be visiting again. Original review: The food was pretty good, but the place needs a cook. There was just one woman who took orders and made the food. After we ordered, there were two other sets of customers (6 people/orders and drinks total in the whole cafe). No other people ordered. It took about 25 minutes for my bagel with egg and bacon to come out... And the egg was cooked through like a hard boiled egg, not poached like the sign said. The bacon was excellent... But the biscuit with egg and bacon took over 45 minutes to come out... Now this normally would be forgiven as a mistake. The woman did admit to forgetting and not writing it down, however the other customers orders took just as long! I sympathize with the woman for having to work alone, but even with that taken into account it was still extraordinarily slow service. My sandwich was cold by the time my partner had hers come out. There was no offer of a refund or any remedy outside of a quick apology. I want to give this place another chance because the food quality was excellent (even cold)... And the prices weren't outrageous even when considering it seemed to a be organic and made from scratch. But with how long it took with minimal customers... I'm not sure I can justify a return visit. I can only recommend it if you're the only customer in the whole place, and even then... It seems you'll need to wait half an hour for your food and hope no one else comes in after you. The other reviews for this place seem really good... So I hope our experience was not reflective of what is normal...
