experienced this little jewel for the first time today, the waffles are amazing; my friend had the BLT with the pesto and garlic aioli and I am definitely going back for that; the tea was very good but from the reviews I see I have to sample the coffee next visit. It is family owned and run, and exactly the kind of local business I love to support.
I've never had the waffles but I can speak for the coffee they use locally-sourced roasted beans particularly from my favorite local roaster, Slate. They make the perfect latte and cortado and I'm sure every other coffee drink is fantastic.
Get the turkey or veggie sandwich with the scone and aoli sauce made in house!! Amaaaaazing!! I also tried their cheese sandwich with tomato soup (also made by Julia) and it was just as delicious. This place is under new management. Owned by a husband wife and their adorable 11 year old. On a day to day basis it is ran by the two main brothers of the family. Very great vibe, yummy food and very friendly owners. Check this place out! I highly recommend! And make sure you get their fresh baklava to go with your coffee ;)
Toast has the best chai in Ballard - and I've tried most of them. They also have a good atmosphere and delicious waffles (both of the savory and sweet varieties - my favorite is the Washington with pancetta, apples, cheese, and apple butter)
They recently have new management, so I'll be curious to see what changes and if it'll remain my go-to coffee shop/cafe!
It's called Toast but I think their waffles really stand out. Good coffee, too, and a couple of Maritime beers on tap. They have one of the few Clover coffee machines not owned by Starbucks.
Ordered the 1/2 size Belgian waffle b.l.t. and it was delish; a twist on the classic sandwich. Come hungry because it was filling. Must also like pesto. Nice chill coffee shop.
I have only been here once, but I was thoroughly impressed on that visit. I ordered the turkey flatbread sandwich and it was delicious. The food tasted wholesome. The wait was pretty long but I didn't mind it too much because it's in the perfect spot to people-watch.
If you wake up craving legit artisan donuts+coffee In Seattle toast's waffles are your best shot! Attention to food, while prioritizing craft coffee! Chill hangout! (Fast wifi)
Amazing coffee and very good music. The waffles are also top notch. For whatever reason it's never particularly crowded here so it's a good place to hang out and read or work.
I used to live across the street and loved this place. The service is great and they have decent coffee. The food is a bit limited but the waffles that I got were always delicious.
