I'm a huge fan of Pig Iron Cola so when I found out the creator of the soda also had a bbq joint in Seattle, I counted the days till I could get up there from the SF Bay Area to see if the bbq was as good as their amazing cola. Finally got up to Seattle yesterday and headed straight there from the airport for lunch. The beef brisket absolutely lived up to the quality of the soda and the pairing of the sweet Pig Iron Cola and brisket was pure heaven. So good that I'm bringing a friend back today for a late lunch before the Cal-UW game. Can't wait!

I'm a French traveler and I like food, different food. I was travelling for business and I've been at the pig iron the first time in December the 15th 2009. This day, I've seen through the window the first flight of the Dreamliner during its descent before landing because my colleague recognized it in the sky while I was eating these fantastic sweet potato fries. So I could never forget the date, but the food I had there made me never forget the place, which is showcase of the fastidious USA period 50 years ago and more. Ambiance, decor, waitress, food and drink, everything match. I came back several time and I never missed to go and eat there, at least once at each journey. Coincidence of life, I am now living at Seattle since 6 months and I am still enjoying each BBQ meal I order and reorder, as much as the local soda or limonade they provide with. So just try it...

Two of us went for lunch. We both got the bacon pig burger. The buns were homemade, buttered, and browned on the flattop. The burger was crisp on the outside and flavoring. Very juicy and had lots of textures from the lettuce, onion, and bacon. Some kind of burger sauce was on it and added flavor to the burger. Besides not looking like beef, it tasted like an amazingly flavored hamburger. The fries were definitely handcut so not super crispy. They were seasoned and partially crispy so we ate them all. The service was friendly and attentive without being pesky. Besides being in a sketchy part of town, the ambiance is part bar - part burger joint. I thought it quaint and cozy. I definitely would go back to try the BBQ.

Molly was our server, she was lovely. This was a very unexpected experience. It's a restaurant that really transports you to a different place. It's a gritty, greasy, unapologetic place that you would be more likely to find in West Texas than SoDo. And then the food. It was absolutely spectacular. Pork burgers had a brilliant charred exterior that gave you the caramelized fat flavor but also the texture that burgers scream for. Lots of options for different tastes and the fried green tomatoes seemed like they came straight out of Mississippi kitchen. I thought I was going to hate it, I absolutely adored it.

My first BBQ Pork Burger! Yummo! The Ham Burger was a winner with a slightly sweet glaze. We shared side of fries. Next time, we'll try the sweet potato fries. Love the fact they do their own meats in house. I had a Hard Chata. So my more things to try!

Amazing pork burgers. We had the Deluxe and Ham burgers and they were great. Shocked that no one has ever done pork burgers before. Try the fried corn on the cob. Again, something we have never seen before and it should be a "thing,"

This is a unique little BBQ joint. Feels very authentic and down to earth. I had 1/4 rack of ribs with the spinach-jalapeño casserole and the baked beans. The beans were more savory than your standard ‘Beans and brown sugar’ you normally find at BBQ joints. I was intrigued by the casserole so I tried it out and was super impressed. I don’t normally like cooked spinach, but I was plenty surprised by the flavor and texture, which was thicker and creamier than expected. I tried the peach cobbler, and although it took awhile to make (10 minutes ish) it was delicious, but order it when you order your main meal so it arrives when you are ready for it. The restaurant is connected to a bar, both owned by the same person. So you can order food and take it over if you want, or just stay in the family-friendly resturaunt.

Pig Iron is a very good barbecue restaurant in SoDo / Georgetown. Looking forward to being able to get my order taken there and eating it at this fine establishment again one day (hopefully soon). I will admit that even their salad is scrumptious...don't forget to add something smoked or grilled. Stay hungry and stay safe!

Great barbecue. They offer a variety of meats, including ribs, pork and brisket. Their cook style is defnitely southern (as compared to Texas style), and is excellent. Try the greens, they are really well prepared. The place is casual, and the staff is friendly.
