Friendly and helpful staff and baked pastries were delicious. Wonderful place to drop in for coffee, a bite to eat and relax.
We absolutely love this place!! Delicious café, nice little cozy corner for little ones, and their cookies are Yummy!!! I especially like the LCW cookie~~!! Nice little almost-hidden spot in lake city!
Delicious slice of Germany in Lake City Way. Adorned with local art and filled with friendly baristas, Kaffeeklatsch has quickly become my new favorite coffeehouse in Seattle. In addition the the regular coffee options, from local roaster True North Coffee, the small German bakery also offers a few varieties of Mighty Leaf tea, with teapot provided.
While the coffee is decent, I would come back for the food alone. You won’t find the typical Costco muffin and stale cookie bakery fare at this Lake City Way coffee shop and are instead presented with an array of fresh baked and delicious German pastries. Fruit Blechkuchen (the perfect pairing between a blueberry bar and sheet cake) and flaky biscuits with jam were among my favorites. Be warned however that while tasty, the pastries are heavier dishes than expected.
Amazingly delicious. Biscuits are perfection. Everything I've ever had here is wonderful. Can't say enough, even down to the staff. Love this place!!!
Fun times at Kaffeklatch today. They're celebrating Oktoberfest. Stop by to enjoy great food (get a pretzel), german folk music, coffee, decorate a cookie, and visit community booths in the parking lot. Festivities continue tomorrow 9/30 as well. Delicious fall favorite, sweet potato pie, is back :)
Hello lake city! I was impressed to find such a sweet little coffee shop in LC. For one, I'm a huge coffee lover. I had an americano and it was so smooth, flavorful and delicious. AND there is an awesome play area for kids! Totally know where I am going on rainy days from now on! Can't wait to try some treats!
Yay!. Only have been once so far. The place looks amazing and the servers there were super friendly/nice. Got a great rhubarb treat. The special frozen mocha thing I got was "meh" though and I wouldn't recommend, it was mildly flavorful and the consistancy was bad.. it turned to flavorless slush very quickly.. impossible to drink. I definitely plan to go back soon and try something on the regular menu though. Hope a cool place like this stays in the area.
Hooray for Lake City!. Lake City finally has a great independent cafe/bakery/coffee shop. I don't know much about German baking but everything is delicious. And their chocolate chip cookies may be the best I've ever had with the perfect amount of moist, chewy, chocolate buttery goodness.
Very friendly service with a neighborly vibe. I'm so happy for Lake City!
Great addition to the Lake City neighborhood. I've been to Kaffeeklatsch about 5 times now, and each time I've had a tasty treat and great experience with the owners. Bean City down the street is nice, but I really like having a place to be able to sit for longer (they have free wifi). I don't drink coffee, so I can't attest to the quality, but they use Seattle Coffee Works beans, so they're starting from a good place. The triple ginger cookie is fantastic on its own and especially with tea, the apfeltarten (apple hand pie), mohnkuchen (poppy seed cake), and blechkuchen (berry coffee cake) are other favorites. I don't like to dip my cakes into liquid, so the dryer marmorkuchen (marble cake) wasn't my thing, but my boyfriend liked it with his coffee.
Greeted with a charming 'das lange wochenende' sign, meaning 'Happy long weekend!' ❤️ Exploring German flavors, we savored the delightful bitterness of mezzo and indulged in the sweetness of Blechkuchen topped with heavenly whipped cream. Such a delicious combination! 😋🍰✨
Always a fan of a good bakery cafe. And even more so when it's German! Kaffeeklatsch has been on my list for quite some time now. So glad we could make a quick stop here! The smell of fresh bread when you walk through the door is priceless.
I mainly went here to try their famous biscuits. Especially the jam ones, which turned out to be amazing. But we also ended up trying their Bienenstich (A soft yeasty cake with almond crust top and sweet custard filling), Blechkuchen ( Buttery Sheet Cake with raspberry topping) and Apfeltasche (Apple Turnover). You just can't stop yourself from ordering them all! Loved that they weren't too sweet. Seemed perfectly baked and tasted yum! The raspberry one was a bit sour to my taste, but loved everything else!
We got coffee just to go with it and I'm so glad we did!!! One of the best capuccinos I've had so far. Strong and extremely flavorful!
If you're someone who loves coffee and some baked goodness, this is your place!
Just went to Kaffeeklatsch for the first time this morning! Great place to get a coffee and German pastry before work. The cinnamon roll was excellent. I'm for sure going back.
I do think they need some better signage or something flashy in the window it's easy to miss this place.
We picked up some pretzels for an Oktoberfest party and they were a hot! But my favorite thing they had was the German breakfast—a roll with cheese and jam, plus a cappuccino. Simple and affordable, and delicious.
French press light roast was bursting with flavor and the jam biscuit was a buttery sweet delight. The inviting atmosphere and nice staff are an added bonus. Stopping by Kaffeeklatsch is my new Saturday morning ritual.
The atmosphere was amazing and our coffee was made beautifully. For breakfast we shared a biscuit with butter and jam and it was better than I could have ever expected. We wanted one of everything. We actually got 2 more coffees to go.
Cute spot, I had chai and a cinnamon roll and both were awesome. People working there were very nice as well.
A nice place to get some coffee and fancy German cakes/pastries.
Tasty German Pflaumenblechkuchen (Plum Cake) approved by a German 🇩🇪😇
Yummy house-made baked goods, excellent customer service. Even a small area for kids with a kid-sized table & chairs, books and a few toys, wisely separated from the rest of the cafe so kids aren’t disruptive to grown ups enjoying their goodies and coffee. My 3 year old accidentally spilled his entire steamer on the floor, the staff was so kind to him as they helped us clean it up, they even made it fun so he wouldn’t feel bad. Then they brought him a brand new steamer with a smile. I’m so happy to have this lovely bakery and coffee shop in our neighborhood!
