Perennial tea room was tucked away in a quieter section on Post Alley. It was a nice place to check out. They sell loose tea leaves as well as other tea paraphernalia and books. As for tea beverages for sale - I tried their Turkish Blend which was a black tea with spices inspired from Türkiye. It wasn’t my cup of tea! 😅 By the time I was finishing my tea, my mouth was starting to feel a bit dry - similar to how it gets when I steep my tea for longer than I should. All that said, while it isn’t my favorite tea place in Seattle, it is a fun place to visit and try their offerings! The staff here were really friendly!

So glad I got to stop here for the first time the other day! It’s a lovely little shop tucked away just above the main Pike Place Market complex. It’s a cozy shop with lots of choices and friendly, helpful staff. I loved the laminated “menu” next to the door that laid out the choices by tea type (unflavored black, green, herbal, and so on) - it made it very easy to pick a few different teas to try. I purchased a loose leaf tea basket to use with existing mugs and several small bags of tea to figure out some new favorites. I love that the bags’ labels are color-coded by tea variety and have clear brewing instructions right on the front of the package. I love the Mountain Morning and Rainbow Roiboos so far - and I can’t wait to try the Blue Eyes.

Such a beautiful store. I’ve never seen so many exquisite tea pots in my life. Friendly staff. Masks are required.

Very knowledgeable staff and excellent tea selection! They offer free shipping for orders over $100, if you’re looking to stock up while visiting! I received my shipment 3 days after purchasing in store (shipped to San Diego, CA)

Dear Locals: this is a good place for you too. I know there's some hesitancy to dive into the fray anywhere near the market, and god save us from kitch-packed traps, but this place is truly deserving of your tea-sipping attentions. It's the authentic thing, improbably thriving at the edge of the tourist hellscape. And it's wonderful. The selection of teas is wide and deep, but very navigable. This is triply the case if you ask for a little direction as the staff are really quite knowledgeable. The stocked teapots and cups all seem selected with a gallery curator's sensibilities. The atmosphere is cozy, inviting, and everything you would hope for in a place to purchase tea. It's the kind of shop that inspires one to be a regular. Just, maybe make it a weekday trip? The last thing I'll say will be, for some, the only thing I really needed to say to begin with. They sell only a couple of books and one of them is Psalm for the Wild-Built.

The staff at Perennial Tea room was very knowledgeable. She answered our questions with great detail and made good recommendations for pairings and preparation of the teas. The prices of the leaves were reasonable. And the "on-demand" teas that were offered were delicious and well prepared. Overall a great experience!

The staff are so nice! I don't live in Seattle, but these guys carry my absolute favorite tea ever, that I tried for the first time 11 years ago at their Post Alley storefront. So I regularly buy tea from them online and have it shipped across the state. Twice now I've made a mistake when entering the address and both times they patiently helped me out. The staff are very kind and the tea is delicious. They are quick to respond to messages. If I have any questions about a tea I can email them and they respond fairly quickly. Recently I had a question about the pu'erh they sell and they gave me all the info I needed to make a decision. Also! Their products come wrapped in pretty paper and it makes me feel so fancy when opening the box. Truly stellar customer experience.

Best tea selection in the city and a small business worth supporting! After discovering this shop last year We dumped David's Tea for the Perennial Tea Room for all our online tea purchases. We look forward to visiting again the next time we're in the city!
