I have had tocos al pastor from san francisco to tijuana and i have to say these are the best i have ever had. If you are in the neighborhood its a must a
Coming from Detroit and having street tacos I had to see if anything on the west coast compared. I was shocked that Los Agaves met and exceeded expectations. Definitely recommend. Great food and friendly staff
With all the traveling, this year has been a little crazy for me. I've been all over the country and had the opportunity to try some really cool food. Most notably, I've finally found really good tacos in Austin. So, the bar was pretty high when I tried Los Agaves in Seattle. They offer traditional Mexican street food, and I ordered a single taco al pastor, which has grilled pork, pineapple and onion. And, it was fine, but a bit too greasy for my taste. That kind of was the overarching flavor here, so I thought this one was just OK this time around.
I don't really dig pineapple, but I feel like I should because I love every single other citrus fruit. Therefore, I try it in new things when I come across it. Most of the Boise area trucks don't put it on their al pastor tacos, but Los Agaves does. Unfortunately, I still didn't like it in this context, but luckily once the offending fruit was removed the things were delicious. The tween liked them just as they are, and would request them constantly for the rest of the trip (and after we got home as well).
Good burritos!. Los Agaves is across from the main Pike Market area, nestled in the various other restaurants and vendors. I have been wanting to go here for quite some time and was glad I finally made it.
The day I went here was very cold but surprisingly dry. I was bundled up pretty well and braved it out to have my lunch in the open building where Los Agaves lies, fully prepared to be exposed to the outside elements.
I ordered the Lunch Burrito and asked for everything inside it with beef.
The burrito was huge! But was it good! It was crammed with all the ingredients to make it proudly plump! The wrapped egg around the inside of the tortilla before all of the other ingredients which made it all the more tantalizing.
I was definitely full for the remainder of my trip to downtown. This kind of burrito is the very definition of comfort food!
Cheap eats and delicious to boot. After perusing the Pike Place Market, my stomach was signalling to me that it was approaching lunch time.
I was trying to look for a place the offered good value at an economical price, plus it had to be a 'mom and pop' eatery.
Located somewhat close to Pike Place Chowder, I stumbled upon Los Agaves.
It was rather unassuming, but what caught my eye was a lunch special, 3 tacos plus a pop, for about $6. For the 3 tacos, you can have your choice of beef, chicken, or pork. You can pick all of one, a mix, or one of each. I wanted to sample all 3 proteins so I picked one of each.
First off, when this place says taco, erase the thought of Taco Bell from your mind, as this is (I believe) authentic Mexican taco, not the bastardized Taco Bell version of tacos. If you're hoping for a curved hard shell taco, with ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese, you'll be sadly disappointed.
Los Agaves features proteins that you can actually identify, there is no lettuce/tomatoes for toppings, just onions and cilantro.
The shells are not the hard kind, but more like small soft fajitas. The proteins are placed in the middle and you have to 'fold' the fajitas before eating, or however you wish to eat the tacos.
After sampling all 3, the beef was by far my favourite. It was nicely simmered, featuring a nice deep beef taste in every bite. Mmmmmmmmm !!
Next time we head back to Seattle (and in the Pike Place Market area), I'll be sure to head back to Los Agaves for lunch, that is how good the food is (despite the fact that I really don't like cilantro).
Real Mexican Food. Los Agaves catered my 300 wedding guests last month in May! Everything was on time and very professional. They served fresh Tacos straight from the Taco Al Pastor machine topped with Pineapple, which was a big hit with the guests!! Also served Ceviche, chicken with mole sauce, and very vibrant fruit platters. All the guests were talking about how they felt they were in Mexico eating the authentic food. YES it was that good!!!!! Just found out they have now opened a location at Pike Place Market for their Mexican Street food menu. Amazing Mexican food I always recommend to all of my friends and family!
Took a while to make food but it was very busy so understandable after I ate I felt very bloated and felt that the meal had a big sodium base it was still very good and would still recommend and eat it again.
Food was great, I ordered the chilequles . Very generous serving and full of flavor
Great little taco place in the middle of Pike place. They give you a generous amount of meat along with 2 tortillas. The only bad thing I can say is that they don't give you salsa for you to put in your taco. They PRE salsa your taco which for me is a pain because I always want more. Starting is very limited. I would go back for sure.
Amazing and delicious! I think this is one of Seattle's hidden gems. It's located at on the right side of Pike Place Market in Seattle. We went very early, like 6am. They were open for business and pleasantly enough very friendly at that hour. The breakfast burrito I ordered was huge; I could only eat half of it. If you're ever in Seattle at Pike Place Market and are really hungry, stop in here for a bite to eat. The food is delicious and reasonably priced.
Ordered Taco Al Pastor and it was amazing! The pineapples on top were definitely the highlights, balancing out the saltiness so well! Highly recommend!
This is located in the marketplace across pikes place. It’s a small corner in the market but they do have a few high top tables for seating if you’d like to eat there.
Food was delicious and the staff was friendly. This was some of the better Mexican food I’ve had in Seattle. I highly recommend the steak (carne asada) and the hot salsa.
The only downside for me is that this was pretty expensive for something that is advertised as Mexican street food
We spent $50 for two people (huarache, torta, rice, beans & two beverages)
Highly recommend chilaquiles with chicken (adobo) so yummy
My hubs said the chorizo breakfast burrito was bomb too.
This is our 2nd time visit Los Agaves it’s a cool lil tucked away spot. Perfect for breakfast before Seahawks game.
The food is excellent with an identical flavor to the one you find in Mexico, the combination of dishes and sauces is great and at an economical price, without a doubt you have to try this great place of Mexican food, they open very early and the attention of their employees is unique, highly recommended for those looking for the best taste in Seattle.
Amazing service and excellent food. The hot sauces are authentic and the flavour of the tacos is simply perfect. A good price for what you get and also tacos make people happy.
Warm breakfast in the market before 7:30 on a Sunday. Thank you. I had the #2 with asada. Real nice. No extra spice needed but room for some more if you're a sico. Staff was polite and welcoming. Cheese was bomb.
