After being out and about near pioneer square, my plus one and I was looking for a near by beer place and found Altstadt Bierhalle & Brathaust. It was during a weekday night, so we were the only few ones in. Our server was very attentive and greeted us and seated us right upon arrival. He was very friendly and made our late night experience wonderful. We ordered couple of beers and also ordered the pomme fries. The fries were not crunchy, but it was meant to be that way. So all you crunchy frie eaters, you may skip it if its not your thing! The aioli sauce was excellent and you can never go wrong. I am a big Tabasco sauce person, so when I asked for it, the server suggested and gave me their house hot sauce called the "jaeger sauce" instead. Not bad, but not my thing. Especially if I knew that this tiny sauce was going to cost me 4 dollars, I would have definitely skipped it. The server did not warn us about the extra cost. Overall, Altstadt Bierhalle & Brathaus experience and I would be back to try the pretzels like everyone here raves about. But other than that, I could definitely find better pubs elsewhere.

Great beer hall for both food and drink. The menu is great and offers lot of delicious German food, and there's a large beer selection which you can also get served in Steins.

Amazing bartender named Max, great sausages, tasty beer! Fun conversations if you want them! Recognizing an error and completely going above and beyond to fix it! Such a great place, highly recommend!

A new place in town! I was skeptical at first because Google very much wants us to believe that this place serves sauerkraut and bratwurst, and we came in to find a sports bar with the usual list of burgers and salads and things... But firstly, we were spoiled rotten by our server and second of all, the food was in point. The blue cheese burger was perfectly seared and balanced in flavour, which is really tough to achieve given that strong cheese situation. The fries were great, did what they needed to do to stop up the burger jus. We tried the smokey/savoury non-alcoholic cocktail and it was a fun adventure that I'd recommend if you want something sagey/savoury, but you don't need alcohol. I have also overheard that if you bring in a little potted plant there might be some kind of reward? Maybe a free drink? We are visiting from Vancouver so we don't have the opportunity, but if you're from Seattle and are looking for a cozy new pub, it may be worth a shot!

The atmosphere is pretty close to a gut bier Halle. Beer was definitely American, but at least they have the half liter steins. And the food is probably the best schnitzel you can get this side of the Columbia (or at least between the Duwamish and the Snoqualmie). Adding the curry flavor to the ketchup was the cherry on top of a good Deutsch experience.

Great for big groups, yet fantastic for an intimate informal dining experience. True German ambiance. Service is European style, so get ready for straight and to the point service.

I've been here twice now and I absolutely love it. When I went around 8pm we were carded at the door and the place was packed an had loud music. We could still hear each other fine, but if loud crowded places aren't your thing it won't fit well. I most recently went circa lunch time (noonish) and there was only one or party the entire almost hour and a half we were there the music was quieter and the lights were brighter. I'm not normally the hugest fan of beer (many bigger names here in the US are very acidic, which I'm not a fan of) but the Dunkelweisse they have is fantastic. Really smooth and malty and nutty. We were carded when we ordered the drinks at lunch. All the food I've eaten here is fantastic if not the epitome of "authentic german" cuisine. Service was fantastic and quick both times.

Top-notch german beer hall in Pioneer Square. Terrific selection of draft biers and canned or bottled as well. Currywurst, pommes frites, and duck-fat sauerkraut will set you right. A few .5 liter Kolsch biers will get you ready for your next move. Oh, it's time to leave for the Sounder's match... Gute Nacht!!

Communal tables just like Germany. Order on their app (see QR code). Food and drinking seemingly appear magically. Sausage, schnitzel and sauerkraut, oh my! Be prepared to get carded at the door. Close to stadiums, so Sounders, Seahawks and Mariners fan stop by this busy beerhall. First come, first served.

Very nice bar in Pioneer Square. German-inspired menu goes well with the beer list. Chic bar with elegant wood decor, does not scream Germany but the beers do.
