Some of the best Italian food I have ever had, and I have visit the "best" in Italy, New York and the top of Seattle. Not over the top but a great family Italian restaurant that never disappoints!

Pranzo Bella Esperienza!!!!. It's not gaudy, it's not hob nob....this is a neighborhood Italian joint!

It's relaxed, comfortable and happy. The staff is always fun, they have a good variety of wines, and the food is done right. There are too many nice dishes to mention.

Take a date. Or, go with your mamma. It's always a place that I leave, happier than when I arrived.

Very nice! Cozy, a little bit noisy but not bad. Xlnt app of real mozzarella and toms, super creamy and god knows where they got good toms this time of year. Wild boar taglietelle was outrageous, velvet green noodles and nearly black hunks of yummy pig. Service very good, although waiter was a bit something. Very good though.

Real Italian Food. This place is fantastic. The food is so similar to the food that I have eaten in Italy with family. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Decades of excellence. My family has been going to Salvatore for birthday dinners for about 12 years now. It's a testament to how good this place is that we keep coming back again and again. It just seems like the cooks (namely, Salvatore himself) know how to take the food to a level above what you get in most Italian restaurants. There has been more than one occasion where I got my food and had the "I didn't realize food could taste this good!" epiphony. My favorite dish is the vitiello limone. Delicious!

If there's one "downside", it's the fact that, when it's busy, it takes a while to get your food. However, since this is an Italian restaurant, you should be planning for your meal to take at least 2 hours anyway! Sit back, relax and enjoy!

I really enjoyed a dinner at Salvatore with friends (including Italians with high standards for Italian food). All the dishes are authentic. The selection of red wines is nice and both the service and atmosphere are great. The waiting time for food and service was unexpectedly long, but bearable. Bruschetti were second to none and others highly praised calamari. Carbonara was a bit blend and I wouldn't recommend it. Chicken gorgonzola was just like homemade, although a bit too salty. For that kind of dish I would prefer a bit of a larger portion. There are some very nice options for desserts, I recommend having one here. We had really high expectations coming in (were told it's the best Italian restaurant in the US) and while it's not amongst the best I've been to, I would say I would definitely bring my friends here again to grab some food. It's a family style restaurant that people come back to for decades.

Wow! An unassuming place from the outside, but a magical food haven inside. I ate everything and did not let a single drop go to waste. We were greeted with amazing staff all around the entire evening and seated by Salvatore himself. Food started with bread that came with olive oil and parmesan; it was soft delicious bread with a crust that wasn't so hard it hurt, with authentic and outstanding olive oil, and parmesan cheese (hard to go wrong with cheese). Also a special appetizer of garlic butter mushrooms; they came warm and I put some on top of the olive oil bread for a stellar flavor outcome. Then a starter salad. I ordered the Verde, it default comes with Italian dressing. I ordered it as listed on menu, while lamenting to myself internally that it wasn't balsamic. My salad came and miraculously happened to have balsamic on it! It was literally the "mistake" I was dreaming of (hahaha) so I joked to my dining partner that even their mistakes were beyond my wildest dream of delicious. I didn't bother to say anything to the staff because it was a beyond pleasant surprise. Main course was a Chianti wine and the special of wild boar with spinach pasta. The wine was nice and medium to mid-full bodied, a good compliment for wild game like boar. The boar and spinach pasta... absolutely could not have been better. The meat was flavorful, delicious (not gamey at all), and fall-apart tender. The noodles were perfectly al dente (a minor spot was less cooked from noodles sticking together but this is not a "real" complaint because it means the pasta is fresher) and soaked in the most beautifully complex sauce that had the perfect note of rosemary. Desert was tiramisu. Not the US kind... less cream, semi-bitter chocolate sprinkled on top. Someone did their homework on this tiramisu and balanced the slightly bitter chocolate note with the coffee in the soaked sponge perfectly. 2 appetizers, one salad, two special entrees, a bottle of wine, and one tiramisu for ~$140 not including tip. A neighborhood gem I overlooked for far too long. Absolutely recommend.

Had a great time here on New Years eve. I had the Seafood linguini Bianco and it was a nice portion for the price only 22 bucks. I usually don't get dessert but the Chocolate cake was outstanding. Our server was fast and efficient. I will be going back and I do recommend this gem if you live in Seattle. Oh and great Vodka Martinis! Cheers!

My husband and I casually went here one evening were blown away. First of all, the hospitality was great! Our main course was a little delayed and they offered us an appetizer on the house. Secondly, the food was outstanding. It's authentic Italian food and you will feel all the flavors in your mouth when you take a bite. Also, don't forget to try out their deserts. Overall, had a great evening. Will keep going to this place.

We came here on a busy night but thankfully there's lots of seating inside. The food was great - I had the squid-ink linguini with scallop, which was decadent and delicious. All around friendly service and a pleasant atmosphere.

When you call a place to see if they have a wait and the gentleman answering has a solid Italian accent and you can hear the bustle in the background, you know you found one to write about. Then you show up and the same gent, who you realize owns the place, is managing the front, cooking, serving, bartending, and greeting, you know you bet right. And when the experience of his food brings you instantly to memories of traveling abroad, you sink into the realization that you’ve been missing this for far too long. This is an instant classic with a family restaurant feel, like something right out of New York City. Do they take reservations? No, not really. Should you care? No, not really. Have a drink in the waiting area/bar while you wait. Sit down and slow down. Talk with friends and family. Enjoy life and food together. Salvatore Ristorante Italiano successfully walks the line of experiential Italian dining in North America.

They deserve more than 5 stars, in my opinion. The atmosphere is relaxing, the staff are friendly and informative. Tonight, I had the fettuccine with prawns in a wonderful white cream sauce, which was an explosion of creamy flavor in every bite. The fettuccine was the perfect softness, and the prawns were plump and juicy. It was hard not to lick my plate when I was done (thank goodness for the spoon which came with the mozzarella for our bread). My fiance had the gnocchi gorgonzola, which was also thoroughly amazing! The sauce was rich in flavor and creamy in texture, and the gnocchi itself was cooked to perfection. 10/10 we'll be back again, and next time, I'll save some bread to clean my plate!
