I have been going to Cactus since the early days of Madison Park. This lunch visit it was nice to see the the Sante Fe Enchilada back on the menu. This was a favorite of mine... great red sauce, lots of cheese and an egg on top. Perfect! Even better with a Ceasar to start (ask for Pepitas instead of croutons). Sadly, most of the enchiladas are now "stacks" rather than rolled... seems a bit of a cop-out. Not the same experience. The drinks here are tasty. Their house Margarita("Classic") is still special with the Paloma being a new favorite. On special was Elote... some of the best I have tasted. Only frustration is that I arrived 10 minutes before 3 (happy hour). The waiter made no mention of this so I ordered off the regular menu 5 minutes before three. I would have saved at least $6. That said, the happy hour menu looks great. I do like this place.
Wow, just Wow! Great menu but the flavorful food is what you will talk about. The beach area is nice to view from your table. The food is great! Really nice bar and plenty of specialty drinks. Did I mention about the flavorful food?
Go once, you will return.
First meal in Seattle. Prawn tacos on point. Great margaritas ,great salsa. Love the waterfront view. Had better Mexican food here than in Phoenix!
Went here for a late dinner and drinks. We tried the pulled pork enchilada and a seafood enchilada to share between two people. The food quality and preparation was really good, the service was great. The flavours were decent, but not amazing. The cost was a little high in my opinion; about $50 for tao with a pint of beer each. All in all it was ok.
Been several times here and never been disappointed, except for the fact that they don't take reservations for a party of less than 6 people. This alone can ruin the experience, as a wait of 30-45 minutes are not uncommon.
Nice place, the food is decent... Not spectacular, but decent. I had the butternut squash enchiladas, goat cheese spinach and butternut squash...a decent vegetarian option. The rice had toasted pepitas on it which I absolutely loved, and the beans were delicious too! I also had the spicy mango aqua fresco... Delicious, but I had to water it down as it was more like a thicker juice than a flavored water which is what I had hoped for, but the flavor once diluted was delicious!
We grabbed a booth in the bar and ordered a couple margaritas and some chips and salsa - a perfect light lunch, since we have plans for something a little heavier for dinner.
Get's Better and Better. This place is amazing, and it keeps getting better and better. A few years ago it seemed like it was just ok, but this has quickly become one of our favorite spots. Great drinks and wonderful food!
Excellent food. Good service. I wished they were open later. I'd go there more often. The mezcal margarita was awesome.
Mojito time. Best happy hour food and drinks around Alki!!!Inside/outside seating, great servers, strong drinks, one of the best Chicken Quesadillas i ever had! (:
First of all our waiter, Vaughan (not sure if the spelling), was THE BEST waiter I have ever had. His recommendations were perfect. The food was amazing and the other staff were so friendly we felt like old friends. I can’t wait to come back. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant.
Surprisingly great experience!
Easily found a table for two at lunch on a Saturday during an event of pirates storming Alki Beach. The cost is worth the portions and quality. Everyone on the staff was super sweet and they were very prompt. We had seasonal dishes and could tell from the menu they try to provide seasonal and local food where possible. They have a great view of the beach and mountains.
One of the best casual dining locations in West Seattle.
This a monthly evening dinner favorite, and when the weather is good the atmosphere on the beach can't be beat. The interior and exterior seating is excellent. At ice is stellar and they aim to please. The mexi fusion plates are great. Sometimes it can be a tad pricey, but it's always good.
Best margarita I’ve found since I moved to the PNW almost 5 years ago. Sat at the bar with no wait even though it was a stunning sunny Saturday in Seattle. Garage doors to the south were all open, the view was spectacular, and the service was prompt and great. I had the Butternut Squash Enchiladas and they did not disappoint. Could not recommend Cactus Alki more!
Went to Cactus on Alki for lunch today with a coworker. We both ordered the Baja fish tacos which were delicious. It came with two tacos that were filling, along with typical beans and rice. The rice has pumpkin seeds in it which was unexpected, but it was a pleasant surprise as it turned out to be pretty good. We were seated inside with a nice view of the water and the windows were open so there a nice breeze on a hot day. I ordered a Mexican lemonade which was lemon, sparkling water, cilantro, and jalapeño chili. It was delicious. Between the two of us, before tax and tip, the total came out to around $50. This wasn't my first time here, and I've always been happy with my visit.
This place is amazing. Beautiful location and amazing food. My personal favorite is their famous Margarita and Camarones D’ El Diablo. Followed by Three Milk Cuban Flan in Dessert. Unfortunately, it was my 2nd day in the US and I wasn’t aware how to tip. The service was extremely good. Definitely recommend!!
The food was fresh. I had the chicken fried chicken. Everything was great. It was my birthday and another persons birthday. They did give us 1 complimentary flan to split with the group of 6 people. The flan was great.
We signed up for the online waitlist since we were dining on a Saturday. When we got there our table was ready and we were sat right away. We sat for around 5 or so minutes before someone came around with water and greeted our table. It was a pretty busy night, but throughout our experience our water was constantly filled which is great because I drink a lot of water! So, I was very appreciative for that attention to detail. Our server was fantastic and gave great suggestions from the menu when we were ordering. The food was fantastic as well as the drinks! We will definitely be going back soon.
The food was pretty good. The tamales with the chiptole cream had good flavor. However, the price for me definitely does not justify the cost.
The key lime pie was good. It was really sweet which makes sense.
I think I would rather go somewhere else than spend $40 for one person when the food is not exceptional.
Join the waitlist online if you plan on dining over the weekend. Service was good, food was reasonably priced and tables turn quickly. The food is nothing special but for the price it was acceptable. I had a non blended pina colada which wasn’t very good but the others enjoyed the margaritas.
