This place is absolutely amazing with authentic Italian food. The owner Tina whom I met tonight as she greeted us outside was very friendly and polite. You would never think that an owner would be so involved out on the floor and making sure that all her customers are happy. The food was amazing. I found my go to spot for Italian down the Jersey shore. You won’t be disappointed .
My family and I go to Ebby’s all the time and absolutely love it! Make sure to put your name in early /make a reservation because they fill up quick. Have always sat outside which is great too. The food is amazing, always fresh and hot when it comes out. The portions are big and perfect for leftovers the next day. The drinks are also amazing. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I had the chicken parm with vodka sauce and my friends had the gnocchi and the sea bass special last time we went and everything was great. Good value too - all meals come with bread and a salad.
Went on a whim and didn't have reservations. Was able to grab a bar spot. It's a pretty small place so I definitely recommend making a reservation unless you go early enough. The Italian Style Calamari was amazing and my bf and I shared a pasta dish with shrimp and lobster.
Long story, but I recently figured out who Ebby is. One of my long-lost childhood friends thought I'd surprise him . As luck would have it, he sold the place. Regardless, this is an excellent restaurant that serves
large portions, with a friendly staff.
FANTASTIC PLACE. Hubby took me here for the first time recently (it was his second time, he was looking forward to going back as well as showing it to me). Awesome food, drinks, atmosphere, and people who work there are all lovely, especially the owner/host Tina she was a true doll. She took wonderful care of us and also made the time to chat despite how busy they were. Also saw her wishing greetings to lots of other customers. We later met her husband/co-owner as well who was equally as warm and lovely.
The food! WOW. The stuffed artichoke is a must try, really amazing. We also had chicken francese with potatoes and the caprese salad- both excellent. Add some drinks in along with a gentlemen playing beautiful low key live jazz there and this place is extremely charming and quaint, a real winner. We love it and will definitely be going back!!! Officially one of our new favorite spots. Thank you for a lovely experience Tina and staff!
A hidden gem. Terrific Service matched the Terrific Food. Ava our server was so pleasant and happy. It was our first visit to this restaurant. I ordered the lobster and shrimp over pasta in a Alfredo cream sauce. It was so light and flavorful. My husband ordered the shrimp parmigiana with a side of pasta. Nothing was left on his plate to bring home. We also enjoyed fried fresh mozzarella and pasta fagioli soup for our appetizers. We went to this restaurant to buy a gift certificate for a friend. I already have plans to take my son and daughter-in-law there for their anniversary. And from what we experienced, we plan on making many more trips. It’s our new favorite place.
First time there. FYI--make a reservation, especially in summer!!! So went without a reservation but since there was only 2 people were able to sit at the bar. Ladies, they have hangers under the bar for purses (this is a big plus). Anyway, staff were vary friendly and attentive. Menu seems a little limited but did have some nice choices. Ordered Paparedelle AL Fresco (shrimp, spinach, artichoke, roasted peppers, cream sauce). Had 6 lg. shrimp. Could have used more artichoke to offset some of the cream sauce, but overall very nice. Also had Shrimp Fra Diablo over Linguini. Large shrimp, and spicy, but not burning. My companion said "This is how sauce should taste". It was Really Good. Both dinners came with small salad and bread. Very impressed with the food and service. Only reason I gave it 4 stars...Expensive, (for me anyway). Dinners range from $24-$30. Drinks aren't cheep (beer on tap $6.50). Also, I find it fascinating that restaurants are charging for club soda (since it's only carbonated water that they already use to mix with soda syrup). But I don't run a restaurant, so I don't know what their operating costs are (giving benefit of doubt). I wouldn't make this a regular thing, but maybe 2 or 3 times a year only due to expense. Definitely worth going to, but make a reservation, and in summer...parking is horrible!!!
Returned today after a long absence. Returned to find the deli and bakery were replaced by a lounge (now you know how long it's been). Atmosphere is as comfortable as I remember. Our server Ava was very pleasant and accommodating. The food was was just as good as I remember. Hope to make it back again!!
Food here is very good, but the wait can be lengthy. This confirms they are really popular!
C-19 update (Sept 2020) the additional seating outside in the huge tent offers more room for more hungry patrons! Food is really good and the wait time for food can vary. People still pack into the place so the scene is lively as well.
We’ve been going to Ebby’s for almost 30 years. In the 90’s mostly takeout when Ebby’s had the deli sandwiches. In recent years we enjoy having dinner. Last night was excellent as usual and very crowded as the evening progressed. Nick, Liz, & Aiden took care of us for dinner and Tina managed the diners and crowds as they came through the front doors. All done with smiles on their faces! Just a great experience on a Saturday evening for dinner.
