Very popular restaurant, there was a line before it opened on a Thursday night. Sushi bar was filled quickly. We Sat at the table. Service was friendly and attentive! Ordered several appetizers. The monk fish liver tasted fresh. The snapper carpaccio was ok, but not the style we liked. The kama was pretty good, though the burned top tasted bitter. The lollipop roll was refreshing, good idea. The fried calamari was fried over oilly. The nabeyaki udon was my least favorite, the soup base was not flavorful and didn't like the mushroom in them. Overall, it was a good restaurant with good CP!
Went here once before COVID (December 2019) and again in December 2023. I want to say their quality went down a little bit but it was still very good! We got some nigiri, udon, the lollipop roll, and monkfish pate (not pictured). Would recommend it all! Especially toro if they have it! Their udon is a very sizable portion - we shared and it was still so much after being split in half. Highly recommend monkfish pate if you've never had it before.
Alright. I love sushi. Ive eaten it all over the world. This was hands down my new favorite spot in Phoenix for specialty rolls. Fantastic combinations. The freshest fishes. And the kindest of staff have made me an instant customer for life.
My all time favorite sushi spot. As a sashimi lover, this is definitely my happy place. Sashimi are always so fresh and I highly recommend get tuna belly and uni. Also recommend their grilled eel over rice, easily the best I had in the Valley. Price is very reasonable compare to other fancy Sushi restaurant and you get a similar quality of food. Just WOW
Ankimo ( monk fish liver ) was very fresh and flavorful. Hamachi Kama was one of the best I ever had. Snapper carpaccio was just OK.
Best quality fish I've had in a while. Was out in Scottsdale on a golf trip and hit this place up 2x. We had quite a bit of sashimi (Blue Fin tuna was amazing). All of the fish is so fresh - they don't kill it with mayo and stuff to cover the taste, instead the fish is the highlight of just about every roll. Only problem with this place is that your have to get there early for lunch and dinner (the line begins before it opens) That said, they do a great job of keeping the crowd organized. The place is a gem.

Recently moved to the area, and happy to say I found my new sushi spot. Service and the food was absolutely the best. My wife and I ordered so much food because everything sounds delicious and was fresh! We tried so many things we couldn't remember everything we ordered lol
Hands down THE best sushi restaurant in all of maricopa. Everything from the shrimp tempura to the blue fin toro nigiri is absolutely amazing. All the fish is fresh and the quality is the best. Service is always super friendly and very attentive. It can get a little pricey but that’s the sacrifice we pay for quality sushi. Also, if you’ve never had REAL wasabi, this place has it and will grate it fresh for you if you order it! They also have the typical wasabi paste but if you have never tasted actual wasabi, I highly recommend it.
This place is amazing and will always be my go-to sushi spot. Hiro does not disappoint!
Each and every time when we are in Phoenix, we make sure to come here. It was suggested by our friend and we fell in love with this Japanese restaurant ever since. The food is always fresh. The staff are always courteous and helpful. It is one of the most authentic Japanese restaurants we know. This restaurant always has customers waiting outside before they open. Believe me, it’s worth the wait.
This place has been on our list for a long time and I didn't believe the hype until we got there. Line out the door for dinner the minute they open. The menu is HUGE and the fresh specials were bountiful. My party ordered some sashimi and thought the fish was exceptionally fresh. I went a different route with some small plates and noodle soup. Portions were very large.
Next time I plan to order one of the dinner specials. We had a blast and can't wait to go back.
