Japadog has the best hot dog I have ever had! Every time I look at the photo that I took of it, I just want to go back! The staff are super friendly and attentive, and the overall vibe is perfect!
Good hot dogs. Yes it is more expensive than elsewhere, but it is what it is, and at least the Japanese fusion brings something more to it.
This hot dog was delicious. I got the 1 and my husband got the 4 but with ketchup and mustard. I thought his would come with a strip of bacon but it was like salad bacon. My 1 was good just the beef hot dog alone would have been good. But as always a lot of bread.
Very Friendly staff, the two guys who work here are very sweet. I watched them handle a situation where a customer got impatient and aggressive but they handled the situation gracefully.
I got the #1 and it was truly yummy.
Service was good, but food was ok. It'd be a bit better if they toasted the buns more.
We saw this little stand on Santa Monica Pier and we love trying small local places (even if that means a hotdog stand). I am pleasantly surprised by not only the service we got, but how tasty the food was! The gentleman (only one working) was taking all orders AND making them. We hardly waited for our food. It was hot, fresh and looked so unique. A different flare to spice up a hotdog! I recommend the #1 and #2. We also tried the plain takoyaki, SO worth getting!
Great Restaurant. Best Hot dog I have ever had. Staff were curtious and professional and were working hard to provide the best service at the Santa Monica Pier. The only thing was bothering about the experience was a evangelical preacher who was anti semitic right next to the hot dog shop. Don’t know how these people put up with this stuff. Great atmosphere and great food overall.
Nice service, and we tried 2 pork hot dogs. Japanese style sauce, and they were yummy 😋. We sat by the open bench and ate the hot dogs and enjoyed the breeze.
Awesome hot dogs. I had the okinomiyaki version as I'd spent some time in Osaka and wanted to see if it reminded me of those Kansai pancakes. It was great! The sauce was particularly tasty. My wife had the Kurabuto Terimayo dig and she really enjoyed it. The location was obviously unique and amazing. Try it, you'll like it!
We have never tired this in Vancouver and we got to try it here in Santa Monica.
To be honest, I cannot tell the difference of Kobe beef or USDA beef, but it does taste good.
Not only that, the Japanese manager/chef/cashier and Mr. Everything is friendly and speaking good English. We enjoyed talking to him.
Try it and you will know why it is famous.
