Woo Jsweets now sells fresh mochi/daifuku and hattendo cream bread! So called “ice bread”. The custard flavor tastes awesome after I had two matcha flavored bread. Note it contains margarine though, avoid if you have concern about it. But they are delicious.

Imported sweets from Japan! This store is amazing, they have a lot of different Japan sweets you can only taste in Japan. From mochis to finest cookies, everything looks great and taste delicious. My favourites, green tea Mochis. If you pass by early take advantage of the Japanese market and the Book Shop.

Their mochi creams are the best! They’re a super unique kind of dessert, like a cross between a cream puff and mochi. You have to thaw them for a few minutes before eating. I haven’t seen them sold anywhere else, I believe they’re imported from Japan and kept frozen to ensure freshness.

I chanced upon J.sweets when visiting Mitsuwa Market. What I found interesting was that the "wagashi" type Japanese deserts that it carried were exactly same as those that I have been used to buying from K.Minamoto in downtown San Francisco (and I also ran into a K.Minamoto in Westfield Century City Mall in LA). So it looks like J.sweets has somehow managed to get their hands on the same deserts (same supplier perhaps). Anyway, for un-initiated these are the top shelf of Japanese deserts that come with the associated price. Most are between $4-$5 a pop, but they taste great. I avoided my favorite and instead picked up two that looked inviting to me. Sorry don't know the names of these as they are in Japanese (there is a description written next to them in the display case to help you choose). Ended up liking the one with the paste between the pancake over the crepe type desert. Overall good but expensive.

Omiyage shop inside Mitsuwa. Nice selection, but kinda weird since it's in San Jose and it's omiyage from not San Jose. Prices are typical omiyage store: expensive but high quality treats.

For the longest time, this was the only place where you could get Shirokoibito cookies, and even then. you had to order them for pick up from the website. Aside from that, treat this like the souvenir shop right before you get on a plane in Haneda airport. A big selection of Royce chocolate and variations (chocolate dipped potato chip anyone?) They've also got a selection of traditional Japanese sweets and the selection is good for both single pieces and boxed sets. Some of the sweets do show a bit of condensation inside the package, but I've never had any issues with them. Only thing I wish they'd consider supplying is ohagi.

This place is great to try a lot of different Japanese desserts. Able to social distance, really clean and organized, and I appreciate the courteous staff they have. The desserts are great, from mochi donuts to cookies and much more. The mochi sweets are great and have several different flavors. Tea cookies are great especially the chocolate filled. I highly recommend this place and try out their wonderful desserts. They also have a grocery store inside as well. The price is a bit high but well worth it

The mochi creams are amazing. They thaw like they are fresh and so soft mochi dough. There is very good flavor of the filling without being overly sweet. $2-3 each which I think is a little pricey but worth the treat splurge and great quality that is hard to come by in the bay.

Amazing. Try the apple pie mochi. One of my favorite desserts of all time!
