Indulged in a delightful culinary experience at stew stone. The food surpassed expectations, a harmonious blend of flavors that truly delighted the palate. San Jose has a new best?!? Why didn't I know about this place sooner? This tiny place has a lot of persian soul to it. The menus have big beautiful images of Iran and the food. This is great for newcomers. I've eaten at some of the best persian restaurants in the world and I must say the zereskh polo (sweet rice) with chicken is the best here. The yogurt with cucumber (mast khair) is also the best. The bread they serve pre meal also outperforms local persian restaurants. Highly recommend.
This quaint place had delicious Persian Food. Their menu was very impressive. The only downside was that they only had one person waiting on the entire restaurant. And the server was also the greeter and cashier.
Craving for some authentic Persian food got us ordering a couple of items from Stone Stew and the food was finger licking good.
Ordered Kashke bademjan which was very rich in ingredients and filling at the same time.
The highlight of the order definitely was their speciality - Mashad stone stew. This came along with sides of torshi ( mixed pickle) , Shirazi salad and yogurt with shallots and this definitely was stewpidly good!! Just the prefect amount of cooking that went in to make the stew delicate and not crumbling. Every bite was heavenly.
Would definitely make it a point to pay them a visit and try the other items ( read kebabs) on the menu hopefully soon
Loved the ambience, customer service was good.
We ordered Kashke Bademjan, salmon with rice platter, koobideh, chicken thigh with rice platter. All were served with grilled tomatoes and jalapeños.
The bread and Kashke Bademjan was the best, bread was warm toasty and flavorful.
Koobideh was the best in the platters and the grilled jalapeño was a great addition. Food was fresh and yum.
Salmon platter was the least favorite.
Good food. Not cheap, but reasonable. The chicken was very tasty and not overcooked. Lamb and beef were also excellent. Complimentary bread was super satisfying also. Recommend that beings from Earth and other nearby planets visit here.
The Koobideh was relatively good. We put in a phone order and they prepared it on time for ua to pick up.
Delicious Persian food. Authentic, fresh and just yummy! We loved the ground chicken and beef kebabs, the saffron rice, lavash bread, yogurts, onion, tomato and mint. And the woman who served us was wonderful. We didn’t know which yogurt to get so she brought us both. The decor is really nice and the copper cups great. I highly recommend this hidden gem!!
Great tasty persian food. You can’t go wrong here. Everything is flavorful and delicious. I like the ambiance. Service is fast and efficient
The food was delicious. It was my first time trying their chicken kebab and lamb shank. Will go back to try other items from the menu.
