I had the filet minion, and 3 kids shared the 48oz tomahawk steak. The tomahawk had 4 different kinds of salts. Which helped make each steak cut flavor differently. The service was a little slow but polite. He had to attend to different sections of the restaurant. He made up for it in the end.
Went here for a team dinner and it was a great choice. The service was superb and they took great care of us. My steak (filet) was cooked exactly as ordered, medium rare, and the truffle fries (that can be shared) are a must. The pork belly and lobster bisque are great appetizer choices. The bread was fresh and flavorful and the crème brûlée for dessert was very tasty.
I’ve ordered New York Strip with pepercorn sauce on side and also bone marrow and parmesan fries.
Starting from bone marrow, the portion was good ; however , our bone marrow was cold.
It was clear that the marrow was prepared before hand and they just heat it up, but I think they didn’t put it in oven long enough.
The steak was cooked to the perfection, the downside was it was not seasoned at all.
Parmesan fried was okay.
The atmosphere and service at L.B Steak are the best in San Jose. This is my second visit. Although the prices are on the high side, the waitresses and atmosphere are of a high standard. But on this visit I was disappointed. For my menu, I ordered the Tomahawk Rib Eye Steak, cooked medium rare. As you can see in the picture, it looked very appetizing, but the tendons in the meat ruined my entire meal. The tendons of the tough meat did not chew well and were difficult to cut even with a knife. I was so dissatisfied that I doubted whether this steak, which cost $140 for 2 people per plate, was the right price for that day. The last photo is a photo of the steak I had left after finishing my meal because my jaw was so sore that I couldn't eat it.
My wife and I planned a getaway for our wedding anniversary to Santana Row. We made recreation L.B. Steakhouse, and they didn't let us down. We were promptly seated and welcome with Champagne and a card signed by the staff. Our waiter was fantastic, pleasant, and took great care of us, making sure we were well taken care of. He took our order, which started with a ceviche dish with a great presentation and lots of flavor. This was followed by a wedged salad split for the 2 of us, as well as the main dish, a 14 Oz boneless rib eye stake that was to die for with 3 scallops. We accompanied the main course with a bottle of Vange. Good thing we shared our meal. We wouldn't have room for the chocolate lava cake. As for price, it was about $100 each, but the experience was priceless. Will be back for sure.
This review is for the lunch menu which is excellent if you happen to be in the area on the weekdays.
I sat at the bar and ordered the steak sandwich off their lunch menu and it was such a great choice. Jaime was bartending and he was great at making recommendations and provided the perfect amount of attentiveness, told some great stories, and did amazing at making sure my wife and I were enjoying our time there. If I could give 10 stars just for Jaime, I would.
This place was off the charts good - Food, Service, and Atmosphere. We started off with the seared pork belly appetizer (MAPLE GLAZED, SAVORY BREAD PUDDING, SUNNY SIDE UP EGG). Then, on to the main entrees, Filet Mignon & Rib Eye. The meats were superior in quality, cooked the right way, at the proper temperature, and absolutely delicious. The sides (Asparagus and Brussel Sprouts) were very tasty, too. OH, and the Baked Alaska was DIVINE!!!
Excellent food and bar service. Outdoor dining has a new enclosed room w/ windows that open up. Private dining room for large groups can also be reserved. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Reserved the place in advance for dinner on a special occasion. We were seated on time and I felt inside was better than outside. They do have outside patio area seating as well. Great wine selection. All appetizers were good. We specially had steak and paired with red wine. Tomahawk size was massive and can feed 2 easily.
They serve high quality steaks here!
The first time visited the restaurant, we ordered a la carte. Started with salad and bone marrow, in which, the marrow was broiled topped with some sort of sauce that compliments the fat of the bone, while the heirloom salad cleanses the palate.
Tomahawk was tender and juicy, but I personally enjoyed the dry aged ribeye.
The second visit, we ordered their set menu.
Awesome experience and generous with portions of food.
