What a fabulous fresh take on Indian dining, with a terrific team and wine list to boot :) I cannot wait to return this coming Tuesday to try the dinner menu
I enjoyed the food. It was very tasty and flavorful. The Turmeric ice tea was a nice touch.
Amazing flavor combinations and colorful luxurious vegetarian and vegan dishes. The menu covers the vibe of four different cities in India with a creative take on some Indian classics. Go with a group so you can taste a lot of the dishes. Can be spicy so beware if you can’t handle spicy. Four people ate and got super full for about $65 a person we got 8 dishes plus rice and naan and had leftovers.
The food is spectacular! Really interesting takes on Indian classics with delicious innovations. The attention to detail in the flavor pairings, down do the choice of greens that garnish some the dishes, is commendable.
Amazing meal all around. Brought a Bengali friend with me and he loved every single dish (reminded him of home). The spices... the flavor... 10/10 would recommend. Can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!
The food was so good!! Everything is vegetarian, including some "impossible meat" options. The menu is set up in four sections based on cities that influenced the chef's life. Everything we ordered was really good. The Drunken pani puri, Mango salad, dahi wada, and "who killed the lamb" were big hits. We also really liked the saffron cheesecake with blueberry compote. In terms of portions, I'd probably suggest ~1 smaller plate and ~1 larger dish per person
Chef Heena’s efforts to bring the simple, non-fancy, homely Gujarati cuisine food to the world have totally been successful!
Totally worth the experience and bold choice of menu bringing these rare Gujarati dishes with on the table. Definitely worth a visit.
More than amazing contemporary Indian food at Besharam. Thanks to an all vegetarian menu as well. We had Mini Radish kachoris, Paresh’s paratas and Besharam samosas as starters . Although the portion was like a Tapas, taste and quality not compromised. Our entrees were daal dhokli , kebabs and Kichdi . Kebabs were plantbased but had a meaty texture. Khichdi was flavorful and daal dokli was to die for . Cocktails were ok . Mawa beignets was a brilliant dessert creation . Ambience was vibrant . Food was light , humble and non greasy . Good service .Wish Chef Patel can open another location in Palo Alto area serving South Bay customers .
The food is AMAZING and our waiter, Christian, was fantastic — his recommendations were perfect, but I doubt you could go wrong with anything on the menu. He said this food would change our life and he was right. Seriously a really special place!
Besharam introduced me to an entire new tier of Indian cuisine.. You could see Chef-owner Heena carefully crafting dishes behind the kitchen window, meanwhile we had the pleasure of sitting at the bar and chatting with her husband all night. Incredible food, and an experience I won’t forget.
