Came across this place by accident. I was actually going to the noodle house around the corner & couldn’t find a park, drove around the corner & The Cajun House had a park right in front. I looked in & seen the were kind of packed (which was a good sign). Went in & was seated immediately, the waitress was pleasant & the food was great. We ordered the crab in mild garlic butter sauce, gumbo, gator bites, oysters, & garlic noodles & everything was just right. We will definitely be returning again. I love seafood
This is a regular dinner stop for us. If you are looking for Cajun food, you won't find it here. Instead you'll find a wonderful interpretation of it, with an Asian twist. Our favorites are the shrimp in Cajun sauce, medium spicy, dirty rice, and the fried oysters. Garlic noodles are very popular.
Like anywhere where the mudbugs need to be flown in, they are malnourished ... Skip 'em. Instead, try the shrimp and crab.
It's a casual meal, and messy, lots of fun.
It's also a fun place because of the customers. On a typical night there, customers can be heard speaking Cantonese, Thai, Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, Italian and French. Seems to be a real crossroads.
Friday and Saturday nights are extra busy, seem to be "date night", week nights are better
Hint: best parking is on Geary street.
Great food and service. If you're in the area and have a seafood craving, Cajun house is the spot to try. We will be back !
Surprisingly very very good. Unfortunately crawfish weren’t in season when we went, but their crabs and shrimp boils were incredible. I don’t think you can do better in SF for this style of food. Will be back in crawfish season!
Delicious! We ordered the cajun chicken wings, seafood combo B and gumbo with crawfish. Everything was flavorful and not overly salty. The chicken wings were the highlight for sure. It was super tender on the inside and extra crispy on the outside. Came out piping hot. The servers were friendly. Will come back with friends next time.
GREAT food, GREAT atmosphere!!! DEFINITELY will be returning. Met the owner JOE and hubby received a complimentary drink . THE CRAB WAS AWESOME!! This Houston Tx couple will be back at CAJUN HOUSE .
My favorite Cajun restaurant in San Francisco. Great food, reasonably priced and the staff is a awesome. Highly recommended.
This was the highlight of our trip to San Francisco. We walked the Golden Gate Bridge on our last day here and then came to Cajun House. Everything we ordered was incredible. Even our picky eaters cleaned their plates. The flavors were incredible. The gumbo was to die for. By the time we left we had made friends with the chef, waitress and other customers. It was like being invited to someone’s home. So welcoming! We will be back and will recommend this place to everyone!
This was a good find, hidden a lil away from Chinatown. Reminded me of Hot N Juicy. The owner was very busy and kept forgetting our orders but this was understandable since ppl kept coming in for pick up orders.
I really enjoy their seafood combo A with buttery garlic no spice. I usually add on potatoes and corn. Yum! I also recommend their garlic noodles if you like your noodles garlicky!! I have been here a few times.
Best Cajun Crab we had in San Francisco - very fresh and deliciously seasoned. Unpretentious, little place with good vibes - a lot of regular/returning customers, which is a good sign. The owner is super nice, would definitely return!
Great food, good people, good vibes. Wish they had one in the city I live in.
