We got the Heaven, Yoki Roll and Lucky 7. They were all good but the Lucky 7 was just phenomenal!
We also forgot our keys and credit card on the table only to have the staff run out and give us our missed things. Great food and super friendly service.
Was visiting from out of town. My girlfriend and I always make a point to get sushi when we visit the coast, and Izakaya Yoki did not disappoint. The food was delicious. We greatly enjoyed the strawberry soju cocktail as well.
Popped in for a quick bite and was not disappointed. At first the restaurant was empty and I was skeptical, but by mid meal it had filled some (2pm) and I was already sold. I went with the lunch bento special, $16, with chicken karaage and pork katsu. Both fried, but light enough to want seconds. Both dipping sauces were vastly different and both great. Would come back and try the sushi, that's what I see the other tables going happy over. Cheers. PS: I definitely took a photo pre destruction but I have no idea where it vanished.
Loved the gyoza to start, it was very crunchy and flavorful. The lion king roll and galaxy roll were delicious. But because the sushi rolls were so flavorful it left the chirashi tasting a bit flavorless. Overall yummy food but stick with the rolls! Also uni bites were tangy and fishy burst of flavor, worth trying!
I got the dinner bento with beef teriyaki and salmon roll! I also got a seaweed salad! Everything was pretty good. The only thing is that the sushi tasted a bit iffy but other than that it was really good!
The food is very tasty, we ordered the bulgogi which was just the right balance of sweet and savory. The cutlet is a huge portion of food that has two different sauces on it. The family platter doesn’t seem like a lot of food but actually it’s plenty of delicious tasting food. All in all, seven people were pretty full from all the food
Fun little spot. By the time we were heading out the lines were growing.
We had a Tiger Roll, Chicken Karagge and the Salmon Tartar.
The Tiger Roll was the stand out. Seriously. For some reason that Tamago/Eel combo works so well. Great rice and one of the better sushi rolls than we have had in awhile.
The Salmon Tartar was good, but, I'd rather have had the sauce as a drizzle than have the fish swimming in it. But that's me. With tartar I want the star ingredient to sing.
The Karagge, I really wanted to like but it was the most lackluster of the three. So, I'd suggest other items.
Happy hour came with a half priced pitcher of beer so that was fantastic.
I'd love to go back (time permitting) but I'd just order sushi next time.
Incredible food. Decent atmosphere. Friendly staffs.
Their yoki salad is amazing as well as the salad in my dinner plate (which I usually never touch in every Japanese restaurant I visit ). The shrimp rush roll was really tasty and fresh... you can tell they use quality ingredients.
The mixed tempura in my dinner plate only had 1 piece of shrimp, and the rest are veggies that are a little too oily for me. I don't recommend it.
But everything else was great and priced reasonably. Will be back for sure.
Was craving some sushi near my hotel & decided to try this place - WOW!! I had the Aloha roll and Uni Scallop appetizer, both were delicious. Arrived at 5pm and by 5:45 it was full inside. I come to SF once a month to DJ in the Marina District and will definitely be coming back to try out the rest of the menu!
Jan 28 2023 edit - indeed I came back a few months later for the Yammy Yammy Roll which was amazing and also the Bulgogi plate
May 2023 - Jungle Boogie was really good!!
June 2023 - Lucky 7 (bottom in pic) & spider roll (top)
We are here almost weekly. Sushi is always very good as well as the seaweed salad. If you get there between 5-7 they do 50% off all alcohol. Staff is always very nice and always gets as sat right away. They have a good selection of saki so you can easily find some for anyone. This place is very much worth checking out.
