Organic, fresh ingredients cooked just like home, French style in the middle of SF, great!

I "accidentally" stopped in for a snack in the morning on my way to the office. Being new to San Francisco I could have missed it. I'm glad I didn't; I fell in love with this place. The food was great - I enjoyed everything I tried. Some of the things they sell: lots of baked goods like muffins and bread, quiche, sandwiches, and they have sweets! The kombucha was amazing as well! This is Union Square, San Francisco - and I felt like the prices were very reasonable. Everything I had was gluten free (Although I'm not sensitive to gluten). The icing on the cake was the staff at Bio - they made the whole experience complete. If you are in San Francisco, stop at Bio. You'll be glad you did.

Awesome food... Had the salmon quiche and gluten free brownie... Both amazing and the quiche was perfectly balanced. Brownie was better the second day (dark chocolate shell softened). You can tell they use sea salt, got a few crystals in my brownie but I like that

This is a funny spot. While it's not cheap, the prices are extremely fair for what you're getting. The food is interesting, innovative, and they have lots of vegan and gluten-free options (which usually carry a much bigger price tag at other places). The space is a little cramped and the service is hit or miss, but it is definitely worth checking out. I don't love all the flavor profiles, but they do have some serious kombucha, amazing chocolates (try the chocolate covered grapefruit), gluten-free quiche, and great dishes with Brussel sprouts (that can get a bit heavy).

This little cafe made fantastic use of space. Terrific desserts/chocolate, and so wonderful to find healthy food to go that suitable for those with dietary restrictions right in the middle of the financial district. Interesting combinations for sandwiches, a strong assortment of breakfast (etc) muffins and pastries, and the desserts! My favorite: gf brownie dipped in chocolate

It's so hard to find good, inexpensive gluten free food downtown which is why I go to Bio just about every day. The sandwiches are amazing (and so is everything else). They have new stuff everyday, so I never get bored :)

I crave a lot of their chocolate covered items here. They're all huge, and loaded with lots of chocolate, like the chocolate covered granola, chocolate covered cayenne and lavendar, chocolate covered coconut cookie, and a whole bunch of chocolate covered dried fruits. AHHH. It's perfect for my that time of the month, when I feel like the world hates me, my life sucks, and I feel the need to really evaluate my self. and blah blah blah. You know womanly troubles. It's not a dessert place, it's more of a healthy lunch spot. They have really skinny sandwiches, that seem small and expensive, but most of the time they're really tasty. There are also soups, salads, and other things, that I don't usually try. I just get the desserts and the sandwiches. I really enjoy them. I also was able to pick up a few dessert items here for my old boss, who had gluten, dairy, and animal product allergies. Also please note that it's good to know what you want to order very quickly. This place can fill up fast during the lunch hour, and other people can sometimes end up ordering before you, and even though you were in the front of the line, everybody else can get their order before you, because they already knew what to order. If that doesn't bother you, then you really don't have to worry about it.

Tasty and unusual home made food made from scratch at a reasonable price. Many gluten free and vegeterian options not found in other places. Everything here is home made in the kitchen including the.bread. The chocolate covered desert selections are extremeley decadent . This place makes everything healthy and beautiful.

A complete jewel of a place! Tiny shop with big flavors. Everything is homemade - they make their own yogurt and kombucha! The prosciutto and goat cheese roll was served warm. It was perfection in every bite - simple and complementary flavors.
