Kiss was absolutely phenomenal. Cozy, delicious and attentive! Everyone was friendly and unpretentious and the food was amazing. It wasn't too busy on a Thursday but I would still recommend getting a reservation as the entire restaurant has only about 12 seats. We ordered the omakase and it was amazing. Everything was delicious - you should definitely come here!!!

I love Japanese food and I am a big fan of sushi, but I believe it is a kind of food that it has to be either great or it is better to avoid it at all. I travel frequently to SF and I had problems finding a spot I would want to happily come back to, until I found this. Fresh sushi, nice selection of appetizers and sake. Great attention to what is really important: the fish selection, the cut, the proportions (no frills!). Compared to many places in the US, this is a back to the basics experience, with only the sushi master and his wife serving you dinner. Definitely recommend it to all the sushi lovers out there!

Kiss Seafood has some of the freshest fish you will find in the city but it is not your typical sushi bar. It is subdued, authentic, literally just a husband and wife, and very Japanese. I got the the special Omakase menu and was very pleased. The place is extremely tiny and only open 5 days a week for a couple of hours at night so you must get a reservation. There are only two tables and enough room at the sushi bar to fit 6. Don't come here if you expect modern sushi rolls. This place is very traditional and all about the fresh fish.

Simply outstanding. A very small, but special place near Japan Town run by just a husband (he prepares the food) and she serves. This is the only Japanese restaurant in this country that totally reminds me of the great places I eat in in Japan. Close my eyes so that I can't see that the other customers are all American, I would think I am back in Kyoto. I love this place. Not cheap but worth it with an excellent sake list.

This is a truly exceptional restaurant. The tiny, simple but comfortable dining is a welcoming place to enjoy a wonderful meal. We ordered the special omakase. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and perfectly portioned. The husband and wife team who prepare and serve the food we're welcoming and attentive but did not hover.

We were visitors to the city and after some fabulous (and hi calorific american food) we craved for some healthy Japanese sashimi and sushi. We came across this small omakase diner on the net and decided to try it. It certainly met our needs and exceeded our expectations. A Japanese husband and wife team (originally from Hokkaido) ran the diner and had a real Tokyo-esk feel to it. The diner sat around 12 people, so queuing up for dinner (opens from 5.30pm only) was not unusual. The couple was friendly and helped with the choices of food and Japanese sake. Although we didn't choose it, it seemed the omakase chef specials was the best choice. Instead, we chose sashimi and sushi specials (including chopped tuna with pickled plums and uni (flown in from Hoikkaido) sushi) together with some hot dishes (slow cooked octopus, fried minced shrimps in tofu). The chef was very informative about his dishes, provided accurate recommendations to our needs for the night. Prices were typically on the expensive side for an omakase diner but it was all worth it.

Sushi is good and food is solid but i expect many to be disappointed by their omakase. Its a 5 course meal with two of the courses being five pieces of nigiri and about 10 pieces of small sashimi. The other courses werent bad by any means but if youre here for sushi stick to ordering sushi only. The omakase was definitely not worth getting for $70.

This place looks like a residential unit until you are ready to enter. There are two tables for two, one table for three and five seats at the bar. This is definitely not a place you walk up to and find a seat without a reservation (unless you have extreme luck). Very traditional Japanese style menu with elegant presentation. You are in for at least an hour and half seating so don't come if you are in a rush. If you don't know what to order go with omakase and you won't be disappointed. The uni was also delicious.

What an excellent find this sushi place was. If I could kiss the chef I would (YES ITS THAT GOOD). however, it is really really pricey. My boyfriend proposed to me here. The staff was so accommodating and generous. I love it
