The Public House is a sanctuary for Giant’s fans. The food is prepared by some of the best chefs in SoMa. Order the chilaquiles even if it is off the meñu. They are one if the few bars to have Pliny the younger during craft beer week. It is also home to the KNBR tent where you do not have to wait two hours like Salty to talk to Uncle Gary, Larry Krueger, Marty L. or Tom Tolbert live in between commercial breaks...So, just go.
Always my go to place before Giants games. Bartenders are quick to take your orders. Great beer, service and atmosphere!!
Very nice place to eat right before the game. You have to walk through a metal detector to get in but you can enter the park inside. We got the fish and chips and the public house cheeseburger with fries. Fish and chips was crunchy on the outside and juicy in the inside with a good chuck of fish. The home made tartar sauce went well with it. The cheeseburger was juicy and flavorful. Nice blend of lettuce tomato. Onions and pickles with a house sauce. I added bacon to mine. The fries are very well made thick with a nice crisp with a bit of salt and parsley on them. Overall a great experience.
Incredible cool vibe to this place. Must do this prior to attending a Giants game. Wall of kegs, multiple tv screens, awesome beer and food. Direct entry into the ballpark for the game.
Came here couple of hours before the game and place was quite busy.
They have a massive selection of craft beers at reasonable prices - was like 20 odd beers on tap with bunch of bottles and then a special selection of beer as well.
Food is typical pub food but an emphasis on fresh and all prepared on site.
They also have a door that gets you right in the stadium.
Highly recommended if your into craft beer!
First time to visit Public House after attending Fan Fest with a friend. You have to get the Pretzel Nugget Bites appetizer with mustard dipping sauce! The clam chowder soup is scrumptious too. Great tasting Old Fashioned cocktail, and friendly service. Would be good for a large group as well, with plenty of seating areas. Large screen TV's throughout, open kitchen, full bar and rustic brick decor with large windows facing the opening courtyard to the Giants stadium - Oracle Park.
Stopped here twice before a giant's game. First time, just for drinks. This time for food and drinks. Busy but service wasn't skimpy. I enjoyed my meal and drink. Cant speak on the prices, I didn't pay. You can order drinks and take it to the game. Way cheaper!
October 2018 update:
Watched the world series game here and it was a great place to hang out. Great 🍺 selection.
Great beer selection. The food has gotten better over the years. I like how the chef constantly tweaks the menu.
There's an Oracle park entrance inside and you can take your beer. Big plus! Busy but awesome spot to drink beers before the game.
Food was ok, menu does not have much variety though. Big beer collection. Waiters are friendly, but a little unprofessional. Orders arrive slowly but taste good. I got the roasted chicken, and it sas perfectly cooked and spiced. Location is everything, and this one is right next to giants park. Was not busy at around 1 om, but got busy later because there was a game at 6.
Good food/service. It’s ballpark prices ($$$) but a great before game stop.
Good food and drinks, served efficiently.
Way more craft beer selections available than the ballpark. Also, you can bring beer you purchase at Public House into the ballpark. They give you a 12 ounce pour into a plastic cup.
