We were on our way back to Hong Kong which is our hometown and dropped by this canteen before on boarding the 14 hrs long flight. We were thrilled at the taste of the food we ordered, esp soy sauce chicken and beef noodle soup. The waiter was patient in serving us, incl adding hot water to our teapot many times, don't forget hot tea is not free elsewhere. They accepted credit card, with a fee of $2 which the waiter kindly reduced to $1 and accepted tips of less than 10%. The canteen enhanced our general impressions towards Chinatown in San Francisco.

Layout and atmosphere is of an authentic local Chinese canteens I visited during my expat years in Asia; ; Love the old fashioned ceiling fans, fluorescent tube lights, and painting that were chintzy but they went quite well with the decor. My vegetarian food was simple and delicately flavored; the service was friendly.

This place reminded me of Hong Kong, no service quality but have good food. I think their roast is pretty good, the portion is so generous that you will get two meals out of one plate. Don't expect it to be very clean and nice service like those fancy chinese restaurants, look at the pricing they are charging! But it is difficult to come here during lunch time because they took 30 mins to serve a dish, we had to rush to finish our food and get back to work. Their roast is cheaper than 99 ranch, fresher and leaner which I really like.

We stopped by today for lunch with friends from our walk group. At first we didn't think we'd be able to get in since it's so busy, but we waited a few minutes and things opened up. The food is good and plentiful. Prices are very reasonalbe.

This might be the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. I went here and was immensely satisfied with my experience. I walked in here and was seated right away at a table for two near the kitchen. It was a little busy when I got here, but most of the crowd cleared out while I was waiting for my food. Since it was busy when I got here, it took a few minutes to be given a menu. This restaurant has a large menu, with things like noodles, duck, and pigeon. I came here because I wanted to try one of the ducks that was hanging in the restaurant’s front window. However, I ended up getting the roast pigeon instead because I wanted to give pigeon a try. A waiter walked up to me and directly asked me what I wanted to order, not asking how my day was going or if there was anything I wanted to ask him about, which was awesome because I prefer this type of service. While I was waiting for my roast pigeon, my waiter gave me a complementary teapot and two cups since I was with another person. The tea tasted pretty good, but it was hot so I didn’t drink it until it cooled down. After waiting for a moderate amount of time my food came. The person I was with got some noodles for $9, and the bowl they were in was large enough to feed two people. My pigeon cost $13, and it was an entire pigeon, bones and head still intact. It tasted great and it had a nice amount of sauce. While I was eating it the skin peeled away from the meat, which was surprisingly tasty. I used a fork to break the pigeon’s head, which still had its brain and eyeballs inside. The brain was actually pretty tasty, but I didn’t like the eyeballs that much because they had the same texture as gummy bears, which I don’t like that much. This pigeon was kind of large, but I finished the entire thing because it was that good. Once I was done, I left the restaurant, immensely satisfied with my experience. I gave this restaurant five stars because it has amazing food at a reasonable price for San Francisco, and I received great service.

Good roast meats here, my plate was crammed with meat and rice. It's a slight case of quantity over quality but I still enjoyed it

This is my family's favorite restaurant in Chinatown for Asian comfort food. We come here every time we visit SF. Definitely try the duck egg noodle soup. If you like thousand year old egg, they have that in porridge with roast pork chunks, its delicious. My sister had the roast pork rice plate and said it was good. We love getting the 3 item special for $24.95 because the portions are big and we love taking home leftovers. Over the weekend, I recently tried their soy sauce ginger steamed chicken and it was the best I ever tasted! The service is good. There are a lot of older folks in there or families sharing meals. It's not a fancy place but it kind of reminds me of an old American diner. You know the kind of place you go to that just feels cozy, familiar and the food/menu is just consistently good and the same each time? Like that!

Casual but authentic Cantonese spot. No AC inside so it could be hot. Ask to have the fan turned on. What makes this spot special is the house-made Cantonese-style pork belly and duck jerkies (for take out; uncooked). Take home and cut them up, put on top of the rice or sauté with vegetables. Yum!

Note: this is cash only restaurant. A lot of people complaining for the food quality in this restaurant. But heck for the price and portion given, it is more than satisfying. There is enough options for veggies and meat (even we went there a lil bit late). We ordered three dish and one soup for only $22.80 and it all tasted delicious. The service is amazing, food came in seconds after we ordered.

Yummy food. Love the crispy noodle, on. Hoy and geese wing. Porridge is also good. Wonton noodle is kind of bland
