Our absolute favorite Indian food, anywhere, ever! Been going often for many years. Korma to die for. We’ve always loved everything there. My vegetarian friend LOVES it! We love introducing our friends to this amazing food.
The owner is humble and kind. He often gifts little tasty things. A sample of this or that. He makes fresh garam masala every few days.
Northern Indian mostly.
One of the best places to get Indian food in San Mateo. Their Samosas and their biryanis are so delicious that you would want to go everyday. The ambience is really good. It might be a tad expensive but it is totally worth it.
Dont miss their methi Paneer!!!
I was so impressed tonight. The rosemary naan was outstanding- not greasy, beautifully golden, and not too thick, which made it perfect for scooping. The other standout was the tandoori chicken tikka, which came out in big chunks on a sizzling platter with sliced peppers. The smoky taste of the tandoori oven was evident. Overall: high quality food with nice touches, attentive service and an atmosphere suitable for date night or visiting with friends. Recommended.
Delicious! A little pricy, but filling, clean, and friendly! Also have the best naan and mango lassi!
Roti's has high staff turnover, the food and service both suffer. The food spicing (chili powder dumped in all the food) and the slow service while you watch the take out go by for 45 minutes have made Roti's a bad experience.
I loved Roti Indian Bistro, and the lunch combination on their menu is a lifesaver. You don’t have to buy two full meals, and you can get everything on one plate. They served us well and provided great service. I will definitely recommend trying out this place.
Excellent if you are craving for Indian food. Their special lunch combos are awesome. Have been to many Indian restaurants in the Bay. This was by far the best for combo choices offered. We ordered four different combos and all were finger licking good. One extra star for being open to serve all day long, unlike most who close in the afternoon. Great and polite staff too.

I went here because I was craving some good biryani and the last time I came here with a friend, it was pretty good. I had asked them to make it spicy but it was still pretty bland when I got the food. But they were kind enough to make me another biryani, this time more spicy. But I decided to get the naan and malai kofta instead. The naan and malai kofta was rich, creamy and deliciously. It was presented very well too. The kofta balls were freshly fried and brought out in a rich gravy. The basil garlic naan was delicious as well- would recommend adding butter to it though. Later the staff were so nice, they offered to give me some biryani for free anyways. This time they made it spicy. I’m Indian and I can take a good level of spice and they made it indian spicy. I believe the spiciness of Indian food is what gives it that intense and rich flavor and I wish it can be translated when making it for people belonging to different countries. I really appreciated the gesture by the staff and enjoyed my food. I had to take away some food as I couldn’t finish it in one sitting.

It is very clean, and food was served hot.
Chicken tandoori was very nice to have and was well presented.
Goat biryani was tasty too (but not amazing).
Quantity was great, we were two people having lunch. We ordered one goat biriyani and a chicken tandoori and it was great quantity for both of us.
Quite amazing service too. Provided us with whatever we needed and asked for some extra sauce too and they provided for free.
Parking is limited but on street, it should not be hard to find some paid parking.
On weekends, especially in the evenings, it is better to be there on a reservation. They were fully booked until 9:30 Pm at night starting from 5:00pm.
* Mens Washroom can be improved a bit more. Women’s was okay I think.
Very good food. Me and my 2 adult daughters enjoyed the Roti feast for 2- was more than enough food for 2. Right amount of spices! Very friendly staff (Bob)! Excellent location. I will definitely return here when I’m in the area.
Yum! The dishes are full of flavors. Quality Indian food and service was superb.
Had lunch here with my friend last Sunday, per his recommendation. We were quickly seated and the aroma coming from the kitchen was wonderful. We ordered and were not disappointed. The food was fresh, tasty and amazing. The waiter was very accommodating and the owner is a gentleman. He mentioned that his son is the chef. Will we return to Roti Indian Bistro? Yes, yes and yes!
Nice little Indian restaurant in west portal. Perfect for comfort food. Everything is delicious. Restaurant ambiance is very soothing. Reasonably priced. The owners are very polite and accommodating.
They have a good selection of veg and non veg dishes. They serve the Indian chai on request, it’s amazing. I had a sore throat and the chai was such a relief. I have been here a lot of times and will keep coming back!

The tandoori selection was extensive and wonderful flavorful. The garlic naan was very special. Get the lamb samosas, meaty and just spicy enough.
