Returning to this restaurant is Iike going home to your favorite secret spot in France where the chef treats you as his family, lover or best friend. I travel and dine a lot and spend weeks in Paris but this was the only place I insisted on going back to in SF on my last minute trip. The fish on the tasting menu for restaurant week kicked the one at Commander's palace I had last week back to the swamp. The pasta dish, you must get the truffle upgrade, its in season- between my friend and I, I had to explain this was what a female orgasm felt like. We're going to go back while in town if I'm in town but I've never been treated so well or had such amazing food. Go here for Dinner!!! It's not just a brunch spot. This chef LOVES his art of food and his customers. Merci bien!!!
One of my favorite restaurant in San Francisco!
The food is so good, the menu change frequency and the quality still the same. Foie gras, duck, fish and dessert... I recommand everything!
And the best: the chef is coming to his clients, he talks about his inspiration, explain the story of your plate and you can feel how much he loves his job!
Nice place, good music, good vibe. I ordered Benedict eggs with crab and my friend with duck. Duck was delicious!! For a drink we asked for mimosa and we got bloody mary which was not that good. That's the only reason I give 4 stars. Service good, price average.
Would come back again
Small French restaurant with a lovely decor. Perfect location on Market Street, next to Castro. Friendly and welcoming staff. The food is delicious, especially the seared scallops. Good wine list too.
Came here for restaurant week, and it was amazing! We had reservations for 5:30pm when they opened, and it was great timing. Since we were the only ones there until the dinner rush came, the executive chef/owner sat with us and talked to us in between courses. Very friendly and personable. Not only that, but the food was to die for! It was the first time that I've had Foir Gras, and it was so smooth and creamy. When the Cassoulet came out, it was piping hot and the top was nice and crispy. Paired with wine, the meal couldn't have been more perfect. Until the Chocolate Caramel Fondant came out...THEN the meal was prefect. I seriously can't rave enough about this place!
I came here for my first time today for brunch and would recommend this to everyone! The food was fantastic! When you decide to go, make sure you get bartender Anatoli!! He is the best! 🙄
Sitting at the bar for brunch with bottomless mimosas is an excellent terrible idea. Your glass is never empty and you leave feeling great. Make a reservation to be sure you have a seat! I love the crab Benedict, and the salad that accompanies it is nice. None of my friends has complained about the food.
Awesome/friendly service, delicious food, a cool vibe, and who can deny the power of bottomless mimosas?!? I love this place, and will come here whenever I'm looking for a fun boozy brunch. The eggs Benedict with scallops was to die for, and the baguette French toast was rich and amazing. I can't recommend this place more!
This is a fun place to come for brunch with friends on the weekend. They serve bottomless mimosas and bloody mary's and even let you switch back and forth between the drinks (recipe for disaster)! We arrived at 11:30am for our reservation and the place was not as packed as I was expecting for a late-ish breakfast time. However it definitely started filling up around noon and by the time we were finished there were a ton of people waiting to be seated- and the music was blaring. The food is decent- but nothing mind-blowing. The portions are relatively small- everyone finished everything on their plate. We ended up being asked to leave our table after 1.5 hours (they put a time limit on brunch) because the next group was waiting. We weren't quite done with our pitcher so the waiter told us that we could finish it at the bar- and he even brought us an extra two pitchers! That made up for being asked to leave our table for sure. :)
Very good food and wine. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Knowledgeable about the wines they had with several suggestions based on preferences or price point. Walked past here several time and just passed it by, that will not happen again. Oh, and happy hour was insane...chucetere and a bottle of wine for only $25! Insane. If you're looking for a perfect place, move on...but if looking for a good deal, place, location with great staff...you've found it.
The executive chef, Nick, is simply incredible. If you want to be treated like a VIP and be greeted with you with a hug and kiss when you walk in, this is the place for you.
Nick also gave us free champagne cause we had to wait a 15 minutes before a table opened up.
The food was amazing which is no surprise at Nick also owns Chou Chou another delicious French restaurant in the Sunset.
Reasonably priced, great atmosphere, very very good!
Stopped by for an after dinner snack and drink. Food was great, as was the staff. Location is likely not as chic as it once was and drinks weren't as I expected (perhaps it was what I ordered but was a bit too heavy on liquor for my tastes). Would definitely go back and give it another try, and once again order the lava cake.
