I had a chance to check this place out recently and I must say I was quite impressed. The ambiance can be considered cozy and romantic, my only complaint is that it can be a little brighter because the lighting is dim. Also, the service there was great, the food came out faster than I thought it would and our server was very friendly. I had the Black Squid Ink Spaghetti with Seafood and it was delicious, I also had a little bit of Tiramisu to crave my sugar cravings and that was out of this world. I would also highly recommend to make a reservation because it was a bit packed.
Nice and quiet local restaurant with authentic Italian recipes and taste. What I have missed from growing up in Brooklynn
Gnocchi was flavorful but so gentle they practically melt in your mouth. So full of flavor with the perfect texture.. I started with the beet salad that hosted a hint of lime, goat cheese and walnuts just the right size before a great meal. The winner; the lobster ravioli with chunks of lobster and delicious perfectly cooked prawn. The sauce was light but flavorful so it do not take away from the lobster flavor. Nice wine list, great service and the quiet ambience I crave to enjoy a great meal.
Definitely one of my favorite Italian places in the area. Fabulous!
Had the tagliatella which was made with pork rather than the traditional veal. Never the less, it was easily one of the best meals I have ever had. Also it was served with warm bread which was amazing. Great place! We had a very friendly waiter who gave us some advice about getting around the city. He was also very patient with a member of our party with special needs. If you're in the area, it is definetely worth the stop.
Every entree we got was excellent but lamb was the best. Short rib pasta also very good. We loved both bottles of wine we ordered too. Great Italian selections reasonably priced!
Solid food, some dishes are better than others. Lobster ravioli is a must! The wine selection is somewhat mediocre. Wonderful focaccia bread to start. Service was a bit inattentive.
Really small Italian place with great food and a friendly staff. I'm not the biggest fan of Italian food, but walking through North Beach at dusk to enjoy this place, the wine, and the food is undoubtedly worth it. Tip: perfect date spot (although I think walking to get there is also part of the experience).
Location is convient and it is close to a parking garage. The waiters are so kind and nice. I love the reasonable prices and a highly recommended place. I come here frequent and recommend it to anyone who comes into the city. My favorite is the appetizers and the long list of selections for food. I will be back and so should you.
I really enjoy this restaurant and have been a number of times - very high quality food, reasonably priced. Great wine selection too! I'm having trouble making a reservation, however. Anyone else? No one seems to be picking up the phone or responding to voicemails. Furthermore, their OpenTable booking page doesn't work..

I won't spoil this with an endless list of all the treats we consume while visiting. It's simple enough to say I was a Peninsula, Inner sunset, Marin person always as far away from North Beach as the next New Yorker, and this is actually a Italian joint in NB that isn't some silly trick. Unbelievable food, modern, comfortable atmosphere, intimate without being crowded, clean lines and clean in general.... it's not a place to miss. If I could stand outside of the other italian spots around that part of town and send them to Vicoletto, I would. Great job on reinventing service and italian cuisine in north beach, with a traditional and reliable slant. Can't wait to come back.
Another Italian place that's delish IF you're patient enough. Each time we've come to Vicoletto's, the service is spectacular, attentive and warm with their decor and ambiance very nice. The service in food is just killer though. And what I mean by that is that don't be surprise if it takes up to an hour for your order to arrive at your table. Why is that? Because they make everything fresh and "made to order"!! What we've learned over time is to RSVP for the first dinner shift (5pm-6pm). Food seems to arrive quicker before the dinner rush. I don't advise RSVPing for the later shift as they run out of alot of the great favorites (i.e. lobster ravioli).
And if you have a huge group (5+), it will certainly test everyone's patience as it just seems ridiculously slow and inefficient. Regardless, Vicoletto is still a great place to come enjoy some home made pasta, gnocchi and ravioli and the cozyness in the place is an added bonus...
